Wildlife Wolf Painting WISE ONE by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Wise One Finished! Well, maybe... I have left Wise One Wolf Painting on the easel to dry and sent images to my galleries. Also gave options if I black out the background which is what  most of my past wolves have had. See images below. 36 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas Available...email me: Laurie With a black background? or gray?  I think it is fine..but who knows....                         This is the original sketch from my sketch book that I painted from... free hand sketching done while TP and I are sitting together at night in the den. He is usually watching TV and I am painting or sketching.  This is WISE ONE in the studio on the easel.   Close up of the eyes and fur lines  Close up of the eye. Close up of the layers of fur and paint.           NIGHT POWER was my first wolf painting back in 2007 I believe. It is with a collector in California. It has that powerful black background. In Celebration of Father's Day 2011 Texas Horse Artist Laurie Pace

In Celebrating Thoughts of Fathers Day I looked back over the year at paintings I had completed and sold and this one  stood out for some reason. Could have been the brilliant red background that caught my eye. This color is my Dad's favorite color. I am not even sure what the title of this painting is and it is way too early to go searching around in old external hard drives. This piece is SOLD.  Contemporary Modern Expressionistic Horse Painting          © Laurie Justus Pace   Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact me for commission work. Laurie YES  You Can Growing up with Gerald as your father made you know in your heart that all things were possible. I am not sure if that was necessarily just his faith in God as much as it was the strength to persevere under pressure. Persevere is defined: "Continue in a course of action even in the face of difficulty or with little or no prospect of success."  Dad have every intention of finding success. He could take a tiny

The heat has really cranked up here in Texas. I have to get started earlier to get things done before it is too warm outside.  Terry has been getting up and mowing here and there every morning. He spent three hours yesterday weed eating the shore of the pond. It is very low right now.  He still winks at me and as he drives by on the riding mower...waving his red cap. Paddy barks at him and Annie runs the other direction to get away from the noise. When you think of painting portraits like the one above, so much comes to mind about eyes, features, noses, inherited genes that create the person you are paint

Wolf Wildlife Oil Painting WISE ONE by Texas Contemporary Wildlife Artist Laurie Pace

You can go chasing it but you will never catch it.  Happiness lands on you when you least expect it. For Lady L that was falling asleep while reading her book, "I LOVE YOU THROUGH AND THROUGH". So then I think of life in general and what most of us want is acceptance. Acceptance for who we are right now in life. We all want love; we all go searching for love with that acceptance.  My grandmother would tell me it was like a butterfly as well, elusive to my s

Abstract Horse Painting ESCAPE by Texas Contemporary Artist Laurie Pace

The Escape 18 x 27 inches of thick Holbein Duo Oils. The gorgeous chunky contemporary horse painting brings together all  the elements in nature blurred about the horses as they run. I finished this painting too late to make the trip to Santa Fe so it is available from me right now.  Email me if you are interested.       © Laurie Justus Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011 ESCAPE Do you ever think about 'escaping' from a situation when you begin to feel uncomfortable or you are ready to NOT be there?  That could include relationships as well as situations.  Have you ever tried to escape yourself? We all have our inadequacies.  We feel we are not good enough, or pretty or handsome enough, or our feet are too big or we are not good enough to snag that better job with more pay.  We limit ourselves all the time.   We measure social success and financial success and when we fall in the bottom it just reaffirms what we have felt.. that we are simply not good enough.

I hope you are laughing.   Nope is not going to happen. BUT stopping to breath will happen. Stopping to reflect and renew will happen. Breathing and relaxing bring peace to both the mind and the body.  When you intake air, believe you are bringing in the energy of God and when you release your breath you are expelling all the pent up anxiety and problems.  With every in and out... release it all and give it to God. Be rejuvenated by the new air filling your lungs and bod

We just returned from a break neck trip to Santa Fe to deliver 24 paintings for my Show in Denver in mid July. That is why I missed blogging yesterday as we drove home 11 hours straight.  Riding for long journeys and experiences from life give cause to reflection. I visited several galleries in Santa Fe since I had REAL work with me to share.  I was offered representation at one gallery for sure and am truly excited about the possibilities.  When you are 'on' for interviewing or selling yourself or your work it is draining.  That is what caused the reflection and the writing of this blog this morning. Who are you

Abstract Horse Paintings Colorado Paint Pony by Texas Contemporary Artist Laurie Pace

Colorado Paint Pony 8 x 10 inches  Oil on Canvas         © Laurie Pace Graphics One Design 1998-2011 It is dark thirty but we are heading out early this morning.  We have heard tales of the wildfires in Arizona creating smokey conditions in New Mexico.  Amarillo is full of dust and smoke from local fires.  This may affect how long we stay in Santa Fe... it may be a drive in and drive out the next day. I am sharing my Daily Word for the day: Beauty I behold the beauty of God's creation. With the first light of morning, the sky becomes a masterpiece of color. Sunlight paints the mountaintops, treetops and rooftops with a soft golden hue. I praise God for this new day. Beholding the splendor of all creation, I delight in the sight of an eagle soaring through a clear blue sky or a tiny caterpillar inching its way across a leaf. I choose to see goodness and beauty in the environment, the peoples of the earth and in myself. As nighttime darkens the horizon, I gaze

Abstract Horse Painting White Mare by Texas Equine Artist Laurie Pace

White Mare 8 x 10 inches  Oil on Canvas         ©Laurie Pace   Graphics One Design 1998-2011 We left early this morning and I am blogging at supper time. We did not even wake the housesitter...took off quietly.  The house sitter already called and reported Annie was eating. We quietly celebrated and gave thanks to God.  He is good.  He is God. We are in Amarillo...tired and going to take a dip in the hot tub and then to bed early to rise early and head to Santa Fe. Laurie           “Enter through the narrow gate. Abstract Horse Painting Blue Boy 2 by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Blue Boy 2 8 x 10   Oil on Canvas   SOLD    © Laurie Pace  Graphics One Design 1998-2011   Short blog as we have a packed day preparing for our trip.  The housesitter is due today and we have much in front of us. Annie's health has failed rapidly the past few days and we are faced with putting her down before we leave. It hurts but I know that is best for my dear dog.  She has been with me for almost 13 years.  Right now she lays on the floor at my feet in front of the fan. She cannot seem to stay still. She rises every 5-10 minutes and paces around and then settles back down again.  I thought it was the veggies Terry fed the dogs but I think her health is going rapidly. Excess drinking of water is the other thing that is occurring. God is good in all He has in His plans. Even with things we consider to be negative, He has positive things that will grow out of it. It may not be for us, but for someone that knows us and loves us. We serve in our lifetimes as we bring other

Contact Steve.     © Laurie Justus Pace   Graphics One Design 1998-2011   FAST TRIP We left early yesterday to drive into Dallas to pick up large sheets of cardboard and the framed paintings from The Dutch Art Gallery. Pam is by far the best framer in the US... really truly true. Levi grumbled when Terry put a hole in the back brown paper on one piece but he redid it for us and we actually made it back home by 1:30 in the afternoon.  Good thing we did as both dogs decided the extra veggies Terry fed them last night did not agree with their constitution and they both had the runs.  We were airing the house out for hours...but all is good now. Fast Trip... hurry hurry hurry . Isn't that the way our lives seem today?  I was so relaxed going in yesterday that the trip in flew by us both.  We were at Uline at the appointed time.. and stopped at Whole Foods for a yummie breakfast burrito,
