Wolf Abstract Painting Jackson Hole The Rare Gallery by Texas Contemporary Artist Laurie Pace

Beginnings of Wolf Pack The Rare Gallery Jackson Hole. 24 x 36 inches  Oil on Canvas © Laurie Pace  Graphics One Design 1998-2011        Last Morning This morning Lori will arrive from Selah ranch to work with me for a few hours before flying back to Indiana.  She was my one student that flew in for this workshop with a broken leg.  She arrived mid day on Friday so I had promised some private time this morning.   Last night I began burning discs from my lap top to move images to the big mac. I cannot wait to share the workshop with you.  We have TWO blogs resulting from the workshop and by midweek I will share those addresses with you too!  Selah Ranch is definitely not the Ghost Ranch of Georgia O'Keefe, but it is now the top choice of Artists of Selah Ranch.  Commitments were made to do it again and to try and make it annual. This five star bed and breakfast is beyond your wildest expectancies.  As soon as the next date is booked... I will have it up for you to sign up..

God would say…”this is not the end…but only the beginning of the new pieces you are putting together.”    All endings start something better.   This inevitable change is constant in life.   Life always proceeds…it never recedes.   Life always progresses, it never regresses.   Death does not end anything; it is a continuation day to progress on to the Father.   When doors close, more open to life and we continue in forward motion. Today write about this new dawn breaking across the sky and in your life.   Write about new beginnings and realize that is what is happening right now all around you.   You have given yourself permission to enjoy life. You are moving forward with change and not going to limit or be afraid of the journey.   You are going to embrace li

Wet Acrylic Washes and India Ink Day one first exercise....    Saturday   7 am Second Meditation Sometimes in life we hit walls in our days.   Life begins to fray at the ends and things look to be falling apart. What if it is really falling together for the first time?   Trust in God and the process of life…or the journey of life.   The outcome of what you do daily is not as important as the moments you live this day and the joy and gifts you share with others. What are you hanging on to in life? What are you allowing to keep you tied down?   If you will let go of all of it… let if all into pieces, God allows you to choose the pieces you want to pick up and carry on with you. The same is true in your artwork. You begin working on something and you just do not like it.   You are ready to throw it away.   Don’t throw it away…work on it some more. Put in more time and begin to analyze it and find the strengths in the artwork.   Keep the parts you like and paint over the ot

Now, today, is the day to “try your hand” at creating and enjoy the process with out worrying about the product.  No one has to  ‘approve’ your work.  No one has to tell  you “you are doing a good job”;  There is no right way to do anything, there is only the way you are doing it. Jane Crosbie is in from New Zealand traveling the longest distance... and shortest are some local artists attending from Franklin County here in Texas.  We have 12 artists coming together and the energy should be rich and full of discovery. I will share with you each morning the same meditation the artists are journaling with in their sketch/writing journal. From there they have breakfast and then we begin our day.  IF I can keep up with the camera I will shoot pictures along the way starting tonight. I have a few workshop aprons left and I am sending the first one to Jill who wanted to be here and it just would not come together on this weekend.  If you would like a workshop apron, drop me an email and the first two requests will get an apron mailed to th

If I had not been connected to God through all of this I would not have journeyed through the painful

In your life there is what is called Spiritual Vision. With this vision to are open in heart and soul to the divine order or space God has placed around you and in you.  You are part of His plan and His order in this world.  From tiny atoms and molecules come large mountains and wide seas. God supports all of the earth through the seasons, the ebbing tides and rotation of the planets. He provides shelter for us and food for our hunger.  He blesses us with beauty. Divine order is present in nature as well as in you.

Abstract Horse Painting Red Horse by Texas Contemporary Equine Artist Laurie Pace

Red Horse SOLD 24 x 30 inches  Oil on Canvas         © Laurie Pace   Graphics One Design 1998-2011 GRACE I love the colors in the abstract horse painting. I did it back in 2006 era.  There is a sense of relaxation and grace in this painting.  No hurry, no anxiety...just peace and calm. Grace is around us all the time. For us it may seem invisible and in a way mysterious, but none the less, grace is ever present.   During struggling times in life, we need to allow that inner peace to surface and bring us the grace we so desperately need.  The spirit indwells in each of us and will bring through His Grace all answers we seek. If we are ever vigilant and conscious of this inner power, grace can guide us and shape our journey in positive ways. Through stormy times and rough waters, grace will fill the sail on our boat and gentle blow us in the direction we need to be. Grace is unconditional through God... just like His love for us. This is a snapshot from Mother's Day Br

The hardest for me is facing a challenging decision I know must be made and not wanting to deal with it.  Avoiding it as long as I can truly makes it seem worse than it is.  That inner voice has already answered me with what needs to be, but often my ear is turned away. I am overwhelmed with trying to tie in together the last things I need for the workshop as well as making sure I have everything submitted to Mirada and Western Art Collector.  In the midst of this o

When needs arose I stopped. I didn't panic, I didn't fret, I didn't allow any negativity to drive the day into a mess. I just stopped and paused and took a purposeful praye
