Colorado Wildflowers Painting by Texas Contemporary Artist Laurie Pace

Colorado Wildflowers 12 x 16 inches  Watercolor Available Contact me: Laurie         ©Laurie Pace  Graphics One Design 1998-2011 WORKSHOP BEGINS My workshop begins tonight with a welcome reception for all the artists. Jane Crosbie is in from New Zealand traveling the longest distance... and shortest are some local artists attending from Franklin County here in Texas.  We have 12 artists coming together and the energy should be rich and full of discovery. I will share with you each morning the same meditation the artists are journaling with in their sketch/writing journal. From there they have breakfast and then we begin our day.  IF I can keep up with the camera I will shoot pictures along the way starting tonight. I have a few workshop aprons left and I am sending the first one to Jill who wanted to be here and it just would not come together on this weekend.  If you would like a workshop apron, drop me an email and the first two requests will get an apron mailed to th

If I had not been connected to God through all of this I would not have journeyed through the painful

In your life there is what is called Spiritual Vision. With this vision to are open in heart and soul to the divine order or space God has placed around you and in you.  You are part of His plan and His order in this world.  From tiny atoms and molecules come large mountains and wide seas. God supports all of the earth through the seasons, the ebbing tides and rotation of the planets. He provides shelter for us and food for our hunger.  He blesses us with beauty. Divine order is present in nature as well as in you.

Abstract Horse Painting Red Horse by Texas Contemporary Equine Artist Laurie Pace

Red Horse SOLD 24 x 30 inches  Oil on Canvas         © Laurie Pace   Graphics One Design 1998-2011 GRACE I love the colors in the abstract horse painting. I did it back in 2006 era.  There is a sense of relaxation and grace in this painting.  No hurry, no anxiety...just peace and calm. Grace is around us all the time. For us it may seem invisible and in a way mysterious, but none the less, grace is ever present.   During struggling times in life, we need to allow that inner peace to surface and bring us the grace we so desperately need.  The spirit indwells in each of us and will bring through His Grace all answers we seek. If we are ever vigilant and conscious of this inner power, grace can guide us and shape our journey in positive ways. Through stormy times and rough waters, grace will fill the sail on our boat and gentle blow us in the direction we need to be. Grace is unconditional through God... just like His love for us. This is a snapshot from Mother's Day Br

Do you have a first memory of your mom?  Wow.. my mom... first memories...she was gorgeous... redheaded and very vivacious.  My mom gave the best parties, had the best foods and always a hug for any of us kids. Seems like there were always a bunch of us cousins thrown together in those early years and she loved all of us.  What are your memories?  Lets share those this week. Send me some of yours to share. Mothers Are Special Author unknown  There is no love like a mother's love, no stronger bond on earth Like the precious bond that comes from God, to a mother when she gives birth. The hardest for me is facing a challenging decision I know must be made and not wanting to deal with it.  Avoiding it as long as I can truly makes it seem worse than it is.  That inner voice has already answered me with what needs to be, but often my ear is turned away. I am overwhelmed with trying to tie in together the last things I need for the workshop as well as making sure I have everything submitted to Mirada and Western Art Collector.  In the midst of this o

When needs arose I stopped. I didn't panic, I didn't fret, I didn't allow any negativity to drive the day into a mess. I just stopped and paused and took a purposeful praye

I am compiling things for the workshop...bits and pieces of this and that, working in and out and up and down.  I am way excited about next week and preparing for it just builds more anticipation UP.  I have gathered tools, implements, spray bottles, extra canvas, palette knives, extra paints,

Yesterday I received a care package from my 'sister', prayer partner, and fellow artist, Debbie Grayson Lincoln .  We shared high school together and over fifty times together..but lost track in between. I love having her back in my life.  Things are always on the up with a united front. ( I just checked out her blog and she has a video of one of her chickens with 8 eggs under it.) When she found out Terry and I were ill, she ground up some fresh flour from red wheat grain for us and slipped it into a box with her best recipe for fresh wheat bread. I read over the recipe and it looks fool proof...that is IF the yeast will rise.  I do have two packages of fresh yeast here.  BUT in the recipe she mentions GLUTEN which I st

With it came cooler temps for the next two days.  That is a celebration.  Go figure but my mind is already counting down the next seven weeks until we get to the longest day of the year.  Why? Because I love the fall here in Texas and once we get there, I have but three months to make it till fall...and all the colors.  The seasons seem to flutter by quickly as I have gotten older.  The days really zoom by.  ' With being sick this last week, I lost five days and I wanted to share my thoughts and decisions that came with firm resolution after Easter Service with my parents.   Over that last w

For years the dog has been called man's best friend.  Dog's do not require much in life... a little food, water, shelter and an occasional pat on the head or a tummy rub.  What they give back is more than just love... it is loyalty and unconditional love.  They do not hold anger against you if you forget their food one  morning, or if you neglect to talk to them or acknowledge them. They still love you. Dogs are every faithful and devoted for life. Through the puppy's eyes they see you as the best thing in the entire world. They cannot wait to see you wake up in the morning or for you to give them a pat or hug.  They will follow you EVERYWHERE in the house until you do acknowledge them.  The dog sees you as a parent, a best friend, a partner and a soulmate.
