The Thought : Our daughter is a junior in high school and taking all the PSAT testing etc.   We received a pamphlet in the mail from the school district, SAT PREP COURSE.  Raise your Score on teh SAT, Enroll in the RISD SAT Prep course. WHY?  In the past 10 years since we sent our last one to college, the SAT has become the highest law into getting into college. SAT, ACT, and lots of paranoid parents putting the students through prep courses wanting their son/daughter to get into the best college.  Why are we doing all of this? The Thought :  We went to the Symphony last night: Terry, Crystal and Laurie My brother was able to get us a Loge Box for Crystal's first symphony. Our view! As always the Dallas Symphony Orchestra puts on one of the best Christmas programs you could imagine.  Our favorite piece was the Twelve Days of Christmas using the flair and compositions from some of the greatest composers to date.  It was unbelievable. She tried to sneak them into the house into a shoe box she had filled with grass and direct.  I had to keep a constant watch over her and those doodlebugs as several times there were massive doodle bugs crawling all over her room

The Thought : Wish I was not in a hurry, but Crystal has three tests today and I am the only parent home to review again this morning before I take her up for tutorials early!   My thought to share would be to be tuned into your day today.   Be aware of what is around you. Find joy in the moment and keep a mental list of all the good things that happen.  If you have time, write that list down.  That would be a good thing to reflect back on when your day goes a different direction and you are stressed.  Figure out what you can substitute for stress today and make a new habit.  Let the new habit replace the old habit. The Painting :  The beauty of Holbein Duo Oils is really really obvious in this painting. I cannot praise the quality of these paints more.  From using linseed oil and layer in thin layers to mixing color and applying them solidly like creamy butter without impasto...they hold up beautifully creating a dimensional carving to the canvas.  This is one of my favorites of the year squeaking out in late November.  It is one of the Spirit with out question. It truly sold before I cleaned up paint up.  I often do these when I am working with new colors and want to see how it lays out.  This is a small piece on watercolor paper with Holbein Duo Oils.  Stunning in contrast with the blues and caramels.  Watch for the big one. The colors are so rich with the deep sunset it just became Regal Leo. Leo like the lion with the thick mane...just like this Leo. There are over 25 layers of paint on this mane.  Only in Holbein Duo oils and only in my signature style. The Thought:   Well, turkey day has gone but the left overs are in the fridge .  We were blessed with our day at Stacey's.  Crystal woke up feeling much better (Thank you Target Pharmacist for your recommendations.)  She didn't mingle with family so closely but did enjoy playing video games with Jon and watching the UPS movie.  I have not seen it yet... maybe this weekend. Larry out did himself with cooking. Stacey was the pastry chef with 7 or 8 pies...yum, some of those
