As soon as I touched it up, someone emailed that it was what they wanted and so as soon as it is dry, it heads to the coast to live. The Thought :  What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?  Do you yawn and stretch? Most of us do.  Stretching is a time to waken the relaxed body and begin slowly moving and stretching those muscles that have been relaxed all night. Each new day brings a new opportunity for you to claim your own good. As you do this you must also affirm this to be true for those around you.  It is God's love and light that brings it to you.  The more you affirm this great goodness, the fuller your life will become.    It almost reminds me of developing new habits.  When you want to change things in your life you have the power to make the changes.  The first week or two of Doing It The New Way it feels so

This is a strong painting and the images are literally carved into the oils. The Thought :  This morning I had an adrenalin rush when Terry came into the bedroom as I was stretching awake and he said, "I will always be here to protect you from bad things."  Immediately my brain jumped into high gear thinking in a panic mode...what happened for him to say this to me? Seems like when the ground shakes for an earthquake folks begin to panic seeking protection and a safe place.  I read a story about a little boy that was swinging in the yard as the earthquake hit and his mom hurried outside to bring him inside.  He told her "I am moving like the earth, I can't feel it."  Seems like he side stepped the natural order of panic that follows scary things or bad news.  In the bible David felt fear when King Sau

I used them on this piece.  Actually it was the palette knife and very heavy oils. I have not painted this heavy in oils all summer because of humidity. This painting may take days to dry.  I love the musical feel of colors as the flowers are each dancing in the evening breeze.  The Thought : Often when I am working or painting a piece and I think I have a direction, I suddenly realize as I proceed into it that I am lost.  Fortunately most of the time God knows where I am and out of what seems to be building chaos comes to be a beautiful painting that just 'appeared'.     Life is often like that too.  Not only when we are living in chaos and we find wonderful moments or silver linings,  but also when we are working diligently and realize all the work we are doing will never be seen by anyone.  How could

It began with a charcoal sketch.  From there I work in acrylics first establishing a rather sherbet looking painting.  It had all the colors in the wonderful rainbow sherbet.  I dabbled on it on and off; Then Terry gave his view and I added more values. Then two days ago I begin in earnest to pile on the color with my knife.
