DANCING IN COLOR Contemporary Art Ballerinas in Color by Laurie Justus Pace CONTACT ME TO PURCHASE! FOUR 8 x 10 Paintings! Great gift for the holidays for that special little girl in your life! Laurie Email me for additional single pictures of all girls Laurie Yesterday we traveled to Bonham to visit Dad with family members that were free to go. We had a wonderful birthday lunch at the restaurant and a long visit together. Dad seemed weaker yesterday than he has in quite a while. I hope to return on Thursday for his true birthday. I am not sure this will touch many of you and then again I do not know who it will touch. It is rough stepping in a room with your father and he knows not who you are. He cannot call you by name, but he smiles that same smile you have memorized in your lifetime with him and says, "Hey George, how are you today." You know that works well for me. So lunch was Jerry and Gladys and all the "Georges". My dad has not gone away and disa
Through the Color Contemporary Art Palette Knife Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Oil on Canvas SOLD ALREADY Stay tuned for more! When you see one you like, email me quickly! Good morning! Today is a travel dad to go up to see Dad at the VA Home. I am going with Stacey, my daughter and we are joining several other family members for a small birthday party for dad. My birthday is Wednesday and his is Thursday. I know Mom, Bill and I will go up again on Thursday, but on the weekend is the only time family can come. Bill stopped by yesterday to drop off a picture of David and Jamie, his eldest son and wife. I needed them for the giganto poster 30 x 44 inches I made dad of family pictures. He can hang it in his room. Bill and I visited before he left; both of us examined our feelings and fears for Dad so far away yet knowing he is in the best care there that can be found. We talked about growing old and sometimes it seems so depressing watching the ones we love
SUN UP Contemporary Art Italian Seascape Palette Knife Art Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches Oil on Canvas Contact me for more information: Laurie When I paint something like this I am awed by God's creation in giving such depth in color and such peace in a moment. I am reminded that giving thanks and praise to God of my appreciation of his creation is vitally important. If God made us in his own image, tell me, do you like it when someone says, "Hey you did a great job." or " You are fabulous to do this. I cannot tell you how much this means to me that you took the time to do this for me." I don't know about you, but I puff up inside and have warm fuzzies every where. I try to be modest but it makes me feel good to have done something worthy of notice. It makes me work a little more on the next thing I take on, knowing what I do is appreciated. Why would God be any different? If you only go to him in times of need, you basically are a
BROWN EYES Contemporary Art Palette Knife Oil Horse Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD Contact me to purchase: Laurie This is why it is called BROWN EYES Yesterday I wrote about climbing to God. Terry and I were watching the news and a commercial came on showing a rock/mountain climber dangling off a rock edge precipice. You watched him carefully place his feet in certain spots on the underside of the rock and glancing up and around making decisions on safe footing as he went. He stood up at the top and raised his arms in celebration of I HAVE ARRIVED! It was a commercial to get Laser surgeries for your eyes. First we aspire to climb to higher places and accomplish more. What do we do when we get this far? Once you taste conquering and being at the top of something, or succeeding in that GREAT GOAL, where do you go next? My dad would probably say, "On to your next mountain to climb." If you think about it, to climb that next mountain I have to get down from the firs
RUNNING IN COLOR Contemporary ART, Horse Palette Knife Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 30 x 30 inches of Fabulous Color SOLD Ok as I was researching on line I came across a story written by an Italian pilot from WWI. He was describing how young men would go up for test rides to see if they could learn to fly. One of his statements in his journey was the line, " You pulled it towards you to climb, pushed it away from you to descend." Oh my gosh. Reread that again. But this time say, " You pulled GOD towards you to climb, pushed GOD away from you to descend." Of course he was talking about the "stick" in the airplane that controls up and down direction, but the words from the story hit me hard. When we do climb to our goals through pray and redirection, we grow and mature on the way. Often in life though we push God away and do not spend time in the word and with many of those decisions we descend further away from the plan God has for our lives

LAURIE I sold three new pieces this weekend NOT on sale and then over the past 24 hours a few of the older pieces at good prices. Time to think about holiday gifts for sure, and I will take payments if necessary. This morning I am late blogging as we had to drive out to the airport for Terry to do his vacation bid. He is thinking more about retirement daily as we make it through these winter months. I was waiting for him in the office waiting area this morning and a group of AA hanger managers and trainees were there conversing. One was re
FROM THE WEST revisited Palette Knife Contemporary Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 22 x 28 inches Contact me if you are interested in this painting! I do accept payments. Laurie Repainting, Rebuilding, recapturing. I repainted this one to bring out more color. This happens when things hang around the studio. In life I think we should constantly be growing changing and building. Sometimes we have to back up and rebuild. I am not sure how to explain where my brain is today, but I can almost feel it. Be it things in your life you have neglected or ignored, or people that you have neglected or ignored...now is the time to repair and rebuild a stronger situation or better relationship. When I have a painting that has so much potential and it hangs around here and I continue to see it, suddenly one day I know what has to be done and I begin repainting. So today look around you and see what needs to be taken on that needs repair, things, places, people, relationships etc.
REBOUND Study 1 Palette Knife Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 36 inches SOLD ALREADY! THANKS! 1/2-3/4 inch thick paint from Buttery pulls of Oil! The night sky still shrouds the earth in the early cool of the morning. It is not quite six o'clock. One would think the city remained asleep but it never went to sleep. That is one of the things I dislike about living in town....There is a time to rest and from my earlier life I remember Blue Laws that kept stores closed on Sunday. Our lives have become stressed only because we allow them to be this way. Our lives go 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks in a year for how ever many years God grants us on this earth. I believe we all need more rest. Rest in Him. Since the creation of Adam and Eve, man has had this built in need to challenge God, challenge life and do it our way. Often our actions are in direct disobedience to God's word We have failed to recognize before us the tremendous benefits and blessings t
FALL CHANGING COLORS Equine Horse Palette Knife Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches Contact me to purchase. $650 Or make an offer. Laurie UP EARLY and I intend to work on books today. I might work on one painting though... at least get into a little paint this morning. I was suppose to go shopping with Stacey but she canceled out last night. SO a work day it will be for me. This is Saturday, some of you are off from "work" and some of you like me "work" all the time. Some like my hubby are at "work" today. No matter what you are doing today, do it for the Lord. God has a purpose for each of us. If we use those gift, talents and abilities that God gives us and use them in our lives or our professions it is through this use we are fulfilling His Sovereign purpose for us. He calls us to our individual work to give direction to our creativity. If your greatest desire is to use your gifts in his name then you will find success. Hard work wi
DUCKS Palette Knife Painting DUCKS Oil by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD from the RED TREE GALLERY in Atascadero CA. Laurie Today is a good day to approach procrastination. I am sure none of you have that issue in your life. From the child that delays telling you they have homework so they can play longer over the weekend, to the husband that seems to magically forget there is a repair job to something in the house, and all the way back to you that thinks, "I can try meditating and praying tomorrow when I have more time, today is so full of things that must be done first." Tomorrow may never come and the putting off thing until "tomorrow" makes tomorrow into a thief that keeps things from happening. God calls each of us every day to do things for him and every day most of us put him off. There are verses in Luke which explicitly show all types of excuses from our business or work, our financial responsibilities and our family responsibilities that come to the front whe

Today I am going to challenge you to reset your priorities. For each of you that will mean something different. None of our priorities are ever the same...but sometimes someone needs to get your attention and say RETHINK THIS. WHAT is most important right now and WHO is most important right now? I can only answer for me right now, not for you. God is first as always. Next I have to shuffle. I have again put myself on a back burner, fell off the wagon for loosing my summer weight gain, haven't done my exercise tape in four days, ate a brownie last night, and went to bed miserable. You know who can fix this??? Me. Maybe you all need to help me be accountable....egads, that is scary. How many times have I groaned
MORNING HAS BROKEN Huge Horse Equine Palette Knife Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace Morning has Broken 30" x 36" (76.2cm x 91.5cm) $1800 SOLD!!! THANK YOU! I finished this painting yesterday morning. It was a three day piece as I worked on it in stages as some had to dry before I went to the next one. Let me know what you think of it as it is a different approach to me. I will be exploring it further today with some other pieces. Last night we were watching ELI STONE and something was said about the gift of Grace that God gives us. I wish my brain could quote the phrase but I cannot. Something like, Grace is a gift that God gives to us. It is His Grace that strengthens us. Every day we face life filled with a range of experiences. It is important for us to keep God center in our lives and giving thanks as we live our life and journey through the day's happenings. God provides each of us with a measure of grace to face the day. Think of it that w
