PSALMS 1 Mixed Medium Angel Art Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches Contact to purchase and mention the title: Laurie This is a close up of the facial area and the background. This was the experimental first piece on Psalms, but it is not where I want to be, but once you lay the layers on, they truly do not come off, so this piece will have to find a good home to enjoy it and love it. For me it has too much control. My control. I only have one more painting to deliver to the Dutch Art Gallery. She asked me to do a Poppy and I did, but it is still wet. Easy to pop in a frame though as it is 11 x 14. Stacey stopped by yesterday after her latest Doctors appt and we dropped by the gallery for her to see the work hanging. Makes a difference for sure to see it on their walls rather my walls. Most of this work will travel to The Red Tree in Atascadero California and to my show in Marble Falls at Patina. Are any of you writers out there? Are you TV/Movie watchers? Having a go
MUSIC MONDAY STRING NUMBER 3 Guitar Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace and Morgan Haskell Pace 24 x 18 x 2 Oil on Deep Canvas, Needs no frame. Contact me to purchase and mention the title: Laurie Morgan was over last week and as always he picks up a guitar and hits it hard. He broke another string. He will be banned from my guitars at this rate. It is a pain to go buy strings. AND what I do not get is his generation basically is not responsible. IF I broke something of my mom's I would be falling all over myself to fix it. He will do nothing...so I will be changing my attitude with him now. At 27 he should be responsible...right? This painting we did together. He needed to paint and I sketched it out and his remark was, I don't want to paint guitars, and I said, OK, I will. I started pulling the layers and he got really excited and jumped in to work with me. This piece ROCKS. IT has paint a half inch thick in places. The little knobs to adjust sound are dimensional as t
WITH AN ATTITUDE Abstract Horse Mixed Media Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 22 x 28 Overlays Collage Paper, Acrylics and Varnish Contact to Purchase and mention title: Laurie I experimented further with plain paper, layering it patiently with varnish layers and then painting in layers over it. I guess there are about four layers of paint. Today I will add at least five more layers of varnish to the top. This has been a mission with me to try different things for expression. I have a question and I am sure I will get various answers and probably many of them. What would be your feelings if I used old bibles that are basically in tatters. No spine left, pages deteriorating etc...I am giving thought to using them in a piece of art that would last hopefully another century or more. Terry and I talked about this in depth how reactions could vary. I would only use pages from bibles that are basically in pieces. Almost reminded me a making a quilt where you use pieces of fabric from you
Pretty Sunflower Sunflower Floral Art Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 6 x 6 inches of Oil on Board SOLD OFF DAILY PAINTERS! THANK YOU FOR COLLECTING! Contact me: Laurie Rainy Tuesday today, but we are still waiting for the rain to arrive. This will be a short blog as I want to get a walk in before it comes our way. Before we walk though, I will sit in my garden room and prepare for the day. Close my eyes, try not to fall back asleep, relax and imagine myself surrounded by God's light. It is from this meditation I will receive the necessary tools to make this day and to serve Him as I should today. What is to be done? I know it will appear to me through out the day with out me looking for it. What is to be done, will be done. He guides us all through our days if we just stay focused on Him. Grace, Laurie "By the tender mercy of our God, the dawn from on high will break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet in
FALL ROUND UP Horse Abstract Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD COMMISSION PAINTING 18 x 27 inches Contact me for your special Painted Pull Ponies! Laurie Monday Monday, Just LOVE that day! We have six paintings to ship to new homes today and we will be taking my work up to the DUTCH ART GALLERY for the upcoming show that starts this weekend. Remember if you are in the Dallas area, meet the artist is on Thursday night the 18th. Yesterday we scooted out of Dallas and drove east to Mt Vernon to visit Paul and Vicki Fletcher. Paul went to jr high and high school with us and Miss Vicki is his wonderful wife and the love of his life. That man takes such good care of her it just amazes me. They do not make husbands like Paul anymore. My Terry is good, but not that good! We saw the horses, cows, donkeys, rabbits, cats and dogs...enjoyed swimming and then a fabulous cook out with yummy hamburgers. I am going to put together a sight for Paul for his internet presence... he is running
HIGH MESA Horse Art Painting by Laurie Justus Pace Mixed Mediums Acrylic Overlays of Paper, Paint and Varnish Contact Me to Purchase and mention the title of this piece: Laurie I was experimenting yesterday and like the direction I am going. Tomorrow I will try something similar but different. I have two shows coming up, one here in Dallas and one in Marble Falls, so it encourages me to step out of the box. Yesterday we tried the electric collar on Paddy on a walk. I prefer not to walk my first walk with the dogs. You spend too much time worrying about loose dogs in the neighborhood with Paddy. Annie is great. She can go nose to nose with any dog smiling. Paddy, well lets say Terry kept raising the zap level. It was sad. He is definitely a special needs dog. Stacey phoned yesterday. She has made 14 weeks now with her pregnancy. Little Tink is reported to have precious little feet. She saw those the best on the last Doctor adventure. It will be another month before we know for

I have much to do today here in the studio in preparation for the show at the Dutch Art Gallery. The show starts on Friday the 12th, which I assume is next weekend, but meet the artist is not until Thursday Night on the 18th. Different but good! I really hope if you are in the DFW area you will come see the show. The Dutch Art Gallery 10233 E Northwest Hwy #420 Dallas, Texas 75238 214-348-7350 Training collar. We bought one for Paddy, Terry's dog. He is a terrier terror to take on a walk. He is into everybody's business and barks at anything that is not human. He truly doesn't bother with people, it is birds, cats, other dogs etc... and he is going to have them for dinner. Walking with Terry has been wonderful this week as we have left the dogs at home. I panic when Paddy is with us because
My Sister Commissioned Painting Girl, Dog and Horse by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD This was painted about four or five years ago, but I was going through old pictures and found it! Yes, I have not been painting as much to finish things. I had to dig in old files to post this morning and chose this sweet commission piece I did for a collector in the south. I love working with memories! Yesterday we tenderly drove my dad to a VA facility in our area of Texas that has an Alzheimers Wing. My older brother, my loving husband and I gently moved him from the respite care he was in to this facility where we all feel he will get better care. The folks there are small town folk with huge hearts. They all chipped in to help us get him settled as Mom filled out mountains of paper work. It is sad knowing he is an hour away instead of two miles away, but we firmly believe the care is the best we could find. It was a sad day for all of us and yet we must stand firm in God's grace knowing the de

The temperatures are in the sixties and I want to be out there! We still have a strong wind but it feels good. Terry has one more week of vacation. He has several projects he has attacked and I am hoping they get finished. Today we are helping move my dad to a new facility and praying every step of the way that the care will be good here. I will write more tomorrow... the day is escaping and The sun is up and I want to walk before we have to go pack Dad up. Yesterday we ate a late lunch wtih Justin at Abocca's in Richardson. I had to get art supplies at Asel Art. Catcing up we covered every subject of our loved ones. When Terry and I left I started humming my latest song by the Beatles "there are places I remember.... all my life..." and my brain sings the s
NUZZLE Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD 18 x 27 inches Oil on Canvas Contact me for Commission Work: Laurie Steps for yesterday were 9,575. We only walked once yesterday morning and we went a little over two miles and that was up and down steep hills here in Lake Highlands. The hills are pretty darn steep. I was worn out when we were done, but felt good all day. The leg cramps are gone at night with increased potassium, magnesium and exercise. BUT the little twinges of spasm remain. Reminds me of an eye twitch in a way but the movement cannot be seen, just a flick of a butterfly wing feeling. THANK YOU to all with suggestions. I have ordered the Gel Mat and can't wait to get it. I have a mat, but it is not very soft... I spoke with the gallery here in Dallas. The show opens on the 12th but meet the artist is on the next Thursday night. I am wild trying to finish everything and worked until ten last night. She wants it all early, not like the other places that
YELLOW ROSE Rose Flower Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 8 x 10 Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me for commission work: Laurie Yesterday I walked 12, 567 steps. YEAH. This blog will be short as Terry is waiting for me to finish so we can go do two miles this morning. We had a full day yesterday walking a mile and then errand running to pick up Norton 360 for his computer, Mac doesn't use that stuff, propane for the grill, and meat for the grill. We came home and made hamburgers, Barbecue chicken, grilled corn on the cob and grilled zucchini. After that we dozed and then walked two miles, Showered and had a late date to Half Price books where we spent two or three hours and came home with lots of good stuff. 20% off sale helped too! Today is shipping so we will be out and about this morning. I keep waiting for rain from the hurricane, but we have not seen a drop. When I was cleaning around my desk I found one of my favorite verses on a slip of paper and I have mounted in on the side o
HORSE PLAY TWO Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 24 inches SOLD Contact me for commission work: Laurie Did you realize that your life truly has nothing to do with what you are doing right now? Your life has everything to do with what you are being. We all seem to get caught up in the "doing" of things every day. I do not believe that is why God has us here. He has in mind a sacred journey with our lives to be and to be more than one thing. We have choices to Be Happy; Be Content; Be Safe; Be Peaceful; Be Forgiving; Be Compassionate; Be love. ..etc The bounty is truly there for us but we often choose to be depressed, tired, worn out, overworked, and angry. Time for an attitude adjustment. As I told one of my children recently, they are truly a wonderful person. They are warm, friendly and kind. They are their own worst enemy though because of their choices to sabatoge what could be a good life. They do not feel worthy of it. Listen up, YOU ARE WORTHY. You a
