WHITE FLOWERS BLUE VASE Flower Art by Laurie Justus Pace 14 x 18 inches SOLD RAIN is falling and the lightening is bright this morning. Poor Annie Dog, we gave her meds last night for the storm as it was predicted to hit around three this morning. As we got up at five, it was still not here and she is not drugged very well as it is hitting. Weather forecast was a bit off. Meanwhile despite the rain, all is functioning here but my brain. I need to make more lists! I have quite a few commissions I will be working on today and tomorrow getting them started. I finished up the 24 x 48 of Azawakhs running on the beach. You will see it probably tomorrow in my blog. It is a very powerful painting. I heard from Morgan and Hillary in Washington DC. They were with my friend Niki of Sunrise Tourette and they were doing karaoke. Wish I could have been there to hear my son sing. Today they will begin teaching the art classes we put together last weekend so my prayers are with them as the pr

LAURIE SOLD COMMISSION PAINTING Thursday has arrived and it is muggy outside. Hillary and Morgan are on their way to the airport to fly to Washington DC to do the art program for the Tourette Syndrom teens at the conference. We have pre-shipped all the supplies so the rest is up to them to complete the mission. It was nice to be able to have them take on this responsibility for me. They promise to take many pictures. Did you sleep well last night? I did pretty good until about three when I woke with a nasty sinus headache. Our humidity is harsh right now and storms are expected later this evening. I crawled out of bed and took some Tylenol. I was back to sleep not too long after and barely woke up in time at five to get Terry up and out to work. I always feel like Bed is the Comfy place to withdraw to. The bedroom is the safety zone. It is there

NOTE: Martha, the artist, that left the comment, please email me and give me your email address so we can visit! The paint is thick on this one! Layers thick. One is a horse but small, 11 x 14 size and one is an Azawakh. This is a Sighthound. I am eager to do both today! On the house front, Terry has been sheet rocking to repair what was torn out for rewiring. Darla will be back today to do a dedicated line for my computer. Next week we will take on the box. Sometimes in life we are faced with some major life changing decisions. Sometimes we don't want to face them and we put them off. EVERY day we face challenges and minor decisions and some of those we do not want to deal with either. Many of us turn to our "mother" or our "best friend" to have a discussion about things. (Goes back to my brother's story about the pubs in the UK and how beneficial they are.) But there is always something that comes up that is even too difficult to put in words. We don't want others that love us to know what anguish is in our hearts and what pulls at our minds in the m

I cannot wait to get to the easel later to sketch this gorgeous dog out and start painting. There are also pics of two males running on the beach. I can see why they are compared to Thoroughbred horses. I hope I can catch their energy in my paintings. Catching the energy from God's Love is important in your life. Open your hands and He will fill them. Catch is, you must have faith and believe that. Open your heart and allow the love to bring warmth to your heart and your life. Then remember to pass it on. Every day each of us greets what we left behind the night before. Sometimes that is just leftovers from dinner and sometimes that is hard core worry about something. The best would be to wake up and embrace the day and take it as it comes. Let the Lord worry about the leftovers. He is truly
The Reflections of Light Horse Abstract by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD OH my gosh, it is Saturday and I have no idea what time. I looked outside and it is light already, my stomach is growling and it is after nine....I forgot to blog. I was so busy painting Whippets this morning I forgot to blog. This is one of my smaller horse pull paintings venturing into a new color palette. It reminds me of light and earth pulled together with the horses. We only lack one more room and a hall for lights! YEAH and thank you Darla and hubby Terry. I can do switches when I walk through the house, altho Terry does have a lot of patch work to do with the sheet rock. Had lunch with my parents, brother, Uncle Carl and cousin Martha and her hubby yesterday. Martha and Carl came back over to see the house. I miss seeing her so it was a wonderful day. She is younger than I am, and she is the closest thing I have to a sister. She is a wise loving woman that I respect and go to when I need grounding. Do you ha
DREAMING OF YOU Dog Whippet Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD THANK YOU!!!! This is my second Whippet to paint and this was suppose to be a horse! But as I was pulling the peach against the blue I could feel the dog in place of it and when I stepped back it was definitely there. The electrician is due this morning at eight thirty. She thinks she will finish up today with the wiring and next week Terry will address with her the breaker box. We need everything marked. Tonight will find hopefully working switches for the bedroom and our bathroom. It has been dark in there. On the list today is to line the painter up for the outside of the house. Also another Doc Trip with Mom to get her check up from the doc that took care of her in the hospital. She is growing stronger every day and that is obvious and something I give thanks for every waking moment. I took up a new quilt for her bed to her last night. I think she was surprised. Before she fell ill she had asked me about ours
WHIPPET IN FLIGHT SOLD Only four hours of sleep will lead to a long day at the easel. I have been up for an hour and am getting ready to paint. I will have to stay concentrated and not stray from what I have ahead. I had a challenge from Anne Stark who raises Whippets in Ohio, to paint them. So you will see a new series of Whippets coming from my studio. They are majestic to watch running and are very similar to Greyhounds. Their swiftness is so close to the beauty of the horse running so I am excited about taking this on. DASH Diet. That is what they have my Mother on, the DASH DIET . Daily Approaches to Stop Hypertension. It will lower blood pressure in 14 days. Wonderful suggestions and recipes to go with it. A perfect guide for changing your diet. After conferencing with the dietitian, they decided with the exception of some of her lunch choices (Soup) Mom eats very well. Last night I prepared Wild Alaskan Salmon flown in early in the morning fresh, with organic broc
BLUE REFLECTIONS Horse Oil Painting By Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 48 inches $2700 The Red Tree Gallery, Atascadero, California Contact Wendy Rogers to purchase. Did not want to get out of bed this morning at five. My eyes are still not open. I will be at the easel as soon as I finish this and will hope to get at least two hours of painting in before showering and leaving this morning for errands with my mother. Yesterday more boxes arrived with more surprises. The first was there when I got back from yesterday's doc visits. Beautiful glasses were in this box. They were washed immediately and tucked safely on the appointed shelf in the kitchen. The dishes were already washed and placed in to their nest too. Yesterday at lunch Terry and I ate off of them in the Garden room! Beautiful for the appetite too! Then late yesterday afternoon a second box arrived with new stainless. WOW is it elegant! I think it is called BOLO. Understated and solid...best describing words I can find a

STRENGTH OF SPIRIT Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 30 x 30 inches SOLD Okay, no video. We took one of a family game of CLUE with Jonathan...but it is rather boring! We did eat lots of good food and everything was weight watchers until we got to dessert. Stacey brought a chocolate cream pie and an apple pie and weight watchers lemon bars. BUT all in all, it was delicious! After we ate we took a break before dessert and played a trivia game. I had researched on the internet trivia on Easter. I had prepared 24 questions and the most answered by one team was 6 1/2. Did you know there are over 90 million chocolate Easter Bunnies made each year? OR that the first egg roll, hunt at the White House was with President Hayes and his wife? The Easter Lily Capital of the World is in California and Oregon? They ship out over 11 million Easter lily bulbs worldwide? We all learned a lot and laughed even more. Did you know here in Texas we have Easter - Eve Fires? The German's
