PINK PEONY ~ Flower Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 8 x 10 Oil on Linen Panel Contact me to Purchase. Laurie Saturday early finds me finishing up this peony to post on Daily Painters. I really enjoyed painting this one and will probably do quite a few this size right now. This is a smaller format for me and really an adjustment to painting small. I am accustomed to turning on my Chris Tomlin Christian Music and rocking with my palette knife on huge canvas....This was painted to Antje Duvekot. She is one of my links to the right and absolutely one of my favorite female singers to paint to. Her song about Alzheimer makes me weep while I paint. My dad has alzheimers. Yesterday we walked UP the huge hill we live at the bottom of! We meet so many new neighbors. Gayle lives at the top of the hill with her husband and children. There must have been 8 children playing in the yard. Truly wonderful! We walked about a mile and a half circling the local elementary school. On the way we
OF THE FIRE ~ Abstract Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 18 x 2 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contact me for Pricing. Laurie Humm, it is the way I sleep! I woke up in pain again, but had my right arm swung up under my pillow. I sleep to soundly here compared to our home in Justin, I just don't move around much! Coming home. I had a piece of art I sold several years ago come home to me via a friend that bought it and sent it to me. IT IS one of my favorites. I will be repainting and touching it up and varnishing it and then sending it on to be sold at the Gallery. IF I can part with it! IF. It is an Indian warrior holding his child in his arms. Hopefully I will work on it this weekend and post it. Coming home. Those words mean so much to all of us. Home plants pleasant memories for many of us...life was simple growing up with our parents. Their home is always a safe place to come to when life is beating you up. It is psychological at best, but it always wor
Roses and Lilies ~ Flower Art Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 8 x 10 on Linen Panel Contact me for commission work. Laurie SOLD! Thank you Daily Painters! Egads, what a night. Pulled neck from unpacking boxes last night and topped that with a nice sinus headache with our ever changing weather. A friend had sent me one of those heal cloths you can wrap an injury in...sort of magnet like. I wrapped my neck in it last nigh. It is still sore this morning but I am moving slowly and made a promise to Terry as he helped me dress this morning, that I absolutely would not unpack any boxes today. Will paint some this morning and then clean out the second pantry. We are busy sorting and discarding. Sorting and Discarding is something we should do in our lives on a continual basis. Lessens the stress in your life considerable. There is much of his stuff I would love to lose. I have the right to say this because at the last house we lived in I dumped probably 1/3 of my stuff and another 1/3
THE GLARE ~ Contemporary Horse Abstract by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contact me for details Laurie The eyes are the door to the soul for me. This particular horse has a look that you cannot take your eyes from his. Intense determination seems to ooze out! Yesterday was filled with a trip back to Justin Texas to retrieve cardboard for shipping paintings, Terry's Grandfather's bed and my painting rack. We still have one more trip for PVC Pipe. Couldn't get it all in the truck. We ended up there around Lunch time and Terry wanted to stop at the Local Burger place for sweet tea and a hamburger. Mind you we thought this place was really good about 6 weeks ago. It took less than two chews on my first bite to know I would not eat the hamburger. The salad I ordered was basically two shredded leaves of lettuce in 1/2 of honey mustard dressing. That is the dressing I ordered on the side. The French fries were right good. I ate half of thos
Flowers from my Love ~ Contemporary Rose Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 16 x 16 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contact me for pricing. Laurie Good morning...actually pretty late morning for me to be blogging. We were up till midnight last night packing for shipping. I then was reading one of the Oprah books. More on that on another blog when it is not Mon or Tues and I am split ten directions. This is one of the times I need to take a meditating moment. I am BEHIND on painting. But errands must occur today first. FEDEX and a trip to Justin TX to pick up some stuff we left behind. The other book I have been reading is entitled HELP, LORD! I'M HAVING A SENIOR MOMENT by Karen OConnor. Terry and I laugh every night when I read the next story. Maybe I can share a few with you. "Dear God, I like this one! An older man from Phoenix phoned his son in New York with some bad news. "Son, I don't mean to ruin your day, but I need to tell you something important
WOLVES ~ Impressions of Wildlife by Laurie Justus Pace 30 x 30 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Earth Works Art Gallery $2400 SOLD this weekend! Well today I will take down the Christmas tree and pack away all the decorations. Terry is stuck making boxes and preparing the shipping stuff. THEN I want to paint a bit. Morgan has his teaching interview today and I need all positive thoughts and energy his way as he has a huge head cold that arrived yesterday! Nothing like being sick with flu symptoms and a cold and going on a life turning job interview. The Will of God never places us where the Grace of God cannot keep us. I know I phrased it a bit off, but you know what I mean. He pushes us so that we grow and become stronger with our faith and our journey in this life. Short entry today, and late as well, but much is calling my attention. Terry is still asleep in bed and it is after eight. We went to bed at nine last night, so he should be caught up by now. We will see how far w
Journey ~ Abstract by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 72 inches Acrylic on 3 inch gallery wrap Canvas. Commissions welcome....this one is mine! Laurie This is my painting in my living room~before the chili party. Last night we had our sixth annual Chili party and White Elephant Gift Exchange Yesterday morning I was busy painting in the studio on the painting you see hanging above. We have a circular wall in the living room so I did a 72 inch abstract that hangs with a bowed wall behind it. Morgan did an awesome job decorating. Basically I let him run with the colors! As I was preparing for the party I decided life could be compared to a hard boiled egg. You know the egg starts out raw...like we do in life in the womb... a tiny egg. After we are born we get pretty hardened by life experiences. Some eggs (people) get harder boiled than others. (Can you argue that one?) Some people are soft boiled, so when you break into the egg the yellow is runny...makes it good to dip in your toast then
PINK BEAUTIES ~ Flowers by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contact me if you like it! Good pricing available! Laurie Well we were up late last night...it was the night before CHILI PARTY...which is tonight. Terry was cutting and preparing until way after eleven...despite the fact we had to be up at five for him to leave for work. At our house this is a serious venture and Terry prepares two or three pots of Chili. He also makes me a small pot with out hot peppers in it! This is an annual event and usually the week after Christmas, but the house was only so so and I had not had time to invite folks...so I put it off till tonight. I figure it is the 11th day of Christmas, it still works! Everyone coming will bring White Elephant Gifts to have the numbered gift exchange where you can steal gifts from each other. I hope there are no orange toilet seats this year. Tomorrow I will post more photos of inside the house as Morgan has been working even more
NEW YEARS CELEBRATION ~ City Scape by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 48 x 2 inches, Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contact me for details to purchase. Laurie SOLD ON DAILY PAINTERS! THANK YOU! Short blog this morning! This is a gorgeous HUGE painting by my son and I, done over the last two days! We worked side by side and then would switch sides. He began to see people walking on the sidewalk below. I can actually see them now! Can you? He has a job interview with Northwest ISD on Monday so prayers are needed! It is for a special education position. His work with Grant, the grandson that died in February, led him to the belief that he wanted to teach and work with special need children. I am short today because my internet is intermittent at best. I would not give you a plug nickel for Time Warner Cable. Our service is rotten. A repair is due out this afternoon and meanwhile my hands are tied when it comes to online. God Bless you each. Laurie “He has showed you, O man, what is good. And wha

HAZY DAYS OF WINTER ~ Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 30 x 30 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contact me for Pricing. Laurie A bit late posting this morning, but I had to finish the painting I was working on to post something. I have been selling off this blog so I am trying to paint more. Today Morgan and I will do a combined artist painting, Mother and Son! If we finish it I will post it tomorrow. Yesterday Terry spent most of the day watching TV and Ebay. He has them set up so he doesn't even have to turn his head. He can see them both by just shifting his eyes back and forth. I love having our room together. I normally paint by music though and yesterday I had car auctions in the background, History of the Moon, History of Black Holes, and one of those annoying Clint Eastwood movies where it whistles between scenes. That was like fingers on a chalk board. We hit Whole Foods about one thirty and made it to my brothers at four to watch a movie and have dinner.
ESACPE ~ Abstract Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches, Acrylic on Gallery Wrap Canvas SOLD on Daily Painters. Thanks for Supporting Daily Painters. List is not totally made, but I have been reflecting on it! I know the Lord is putting up caution signs and detours, but I remain in a fog trying to figure out the way. I love it when hubby says, "you are doing it wrong, can't you see that?" But when I ask him to help me understand what it is he sees so clearly he can't answer me. I am not sure he knows, but he is ever so helpful to try and make sure I know I am doing it wrong. If I started my list at the top would probably be self control. When it comes to my eating habits that seems to be lost for sure. To have more self control would be first. Maybe then I can loose part of the twenty pounds I gained over the past four years. Second, hummm, probably flexibility...to have flexibility to situations that I have no control over! Makes sense do
