Explosive Energy ~ Abstract Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 24 inches, Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contact me for pricing or commission work. Laurie Pace Friday dawns cold. Both dogs are curled up on their "Found" beds under my feet. I can't roll on my chair or I will roll on them. The house is making major strides thanks to Morgan and Uncle John. Kyle's floor men are done and Kyle will return today to do the sealer on the slate floors. They are GORGEOUS. Uncle John, Morgan and his friend Ron have been painting non stop. I had not planned on having the house painted inside everywhere, really only our bedroom, but the guys have knocked most of it out. When they are done this weekend only one room will remain unpainted, that is my studio. We will get to it later. The dogs live in here with me anyway! What is left to paint is the dining room, halls, kitchen and guest bathroom. not much. Last night I was cratered having been up so early. Terry and I sh
Explosive Energy ~ Abstract Horse Art by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD 24 x 24 inches, Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contact me for prices or commission work. Click here. I am painting again. This is one of the pieces I painted her at the new studio. Very brilliant color adorns the background with two horses exploding across the surface. No house pictures today...we are painting walls and unpacking. I am painting inbetween as well. I hope to post some it's almost done shots soon. I am struggling at this moment to stay above water with so much happening. I am ready to finish unpacking and getting on with life but it will be a few more weeks before we can do that. Staying focused on the Lord and His light is all I can do to be calm. In His Light, Laurie " He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recogni
WOLF PACK 2007 ~ Abstract Wildlife by Laurie Justus Pace This painting is available at THE RARE GALLERY in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Contact them for exact pricing. They can ship it for Christmas! 24 x 36 inches, Gallery Wrap Canvas, Oil Good morning from the construction site. I cannot believe I am doing this at Christmas. Billie Bauman, The owner of the NY Gallery, Earth Works Art Gallery, is coming to visit over the Christmas break. I will have the potty in the guest bathroom the day before she arrives. I only hope I have the guest room ready. Here is where I am painting right now. The lighting is not the best, but we will get to it. This is the round wall in the living room that on the outdoors is beautiful stone and inside we scraped off layers of latex paint. The surface was not primed correctly or sanded, so Morgan is putting his skills to work on this one. Kyle, the contractor that was sent to us by God and Pam and Jud Kendall, is wonderful. He does landscaping and water feat
Best Friends Two ~ Child and Pony by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches Oil on Linen Panel SOLD Commissioned Painting This is painting I was working on before the move. We are in the midst of boxes everywhere right now. The studio had breathing room but is now boxed in. Below I will post pictures of what is happening here in the house as we go through the renovations of this home. Remember with this second week of advent to prepare yourself. Forgive someone today and remember to in turn ask forgiveness from someone you might have hurt. God's Light to you! Pictures below. I could not figure out how to type next to the picture. Sorry for the mess and I am out of time~ Laurie "But now, for a brief moment, the LORD our God has been gracious in leaving us a remnant and giving us a firm place in his sanctuary, and so our God gives light to our eyes and a little relief in our bondage." Ezra 9:8 This is Terry's dad, Ben, repairing a leaky shower for us. This is the dr
FALL CACTUS ~ Flower Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 30 x 30 inches Gallery Wrap Canvas SOLD Commission Painting Contemporary Art for the Home Well, as I sit here the house is 49 degrees. I asked Terry to make sure the heat was on as I climbed into bed exhausted last night about eight. I fell asleep but it was already cold. When I woke to Dogs making noise at five thirty it was REALLY cold. Nudging him in bed did not produce any results, so I hurried the dogs outside and found the flashlight. (Why the flashlight? The light switches in the house are like none I have ever seen and you need a road map to find which one lights up an area.) I checked the heater first and I could see the gas flame very cheerfully flickering. I made my way thru the box maze to the thermostat and found indeed the heat was on but the fan was on auto. Nothing was running. Either the thermostat is not functioning or the auto fan was not. SO I switched the Fan to ON to make it run full time and presto I hear
Dallas at Sunset ~ Fauvistic Landscape by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas Contemporary Commissions for your home! SOLD I am sitting at my computer surrounded by boxes. Walls of boxes. The best part is we are here. The worst part is we are in a jumbled mess. This painting was a commission piece I did for an NBC Producer this summer for her home in Dallas. She wanted White Rock Lake and the Dallas Sky line... painted in July this year. I have an issue when folks simply cannot do their job. With this move and this mess I have experienced ONLY this. I know God is laughing his sides off in heaven. Now the floor men have an excuse. We hired them late to get the mahagony wood floors left. It was suppose to be done in two days. We are on day five this afternoon. The master bedroom we asked Terry's uncle to paint for us so I could have ONE settled unpacked room and this is day four today and he hasn't started yet. He has been busy all over the house caulking and
Venturing ~ Horse Abstract Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 on Linen Panel Contemporary Art for your Home! Contact me for Pricing or commission work. Laurie Pace Hummm, my hands are not covered with oil paint, but are chapped and dry from paper and boxes. We made our first trip to the new house. I am still in a stupor. She removed doors, light bulbs, switches etc. Does any seller clean the house and leave what they are suppose to leave? At the old house the man took hooks off doors that left HUGE wholes in the doors. He ripped speakers out of the walls from his surround sound....this woman took doors. Not inside doors, OUTSIDE doors, doggy doors. Then the floor man, Kyle ( what a gift he is!) discovers as he pulls up the nasty carpet in the living room, the center circle of concrete where the original round fireplace was located. No way he could nail the floor down to it, so he spent an hour last night jackhammering it out to be lower. The floor will be started today
THREE PEARS ~ Fruit painting of Pears by Laurie Justus Pace 8 x 10 x 2 Oil on Deep Gallery Wrap Canvas, No frame needed! Contact me to purchase. $100 Can still ship for Christmas in US! Okay this is short. Morgan is due momentarily and we load our first load, mainly my art stuff and easels and some kitchen boxes. Also a China box or two. The mover will do most on Saturday but we have to move gas cans, paints etc etc etc. Morgan also has an interview with Northwest ISD today, so PRAYERS PLEASE!!!! This move is rugged and only beginning. I hit the wall about six last night, rolling stomach, hot flashes and almost fainted...I broke down crying, took a shower and read my book for an hour. Terry came in and put on the ALY MCBEAL series he bought me earlier this year and I laughed my way through the first three shows of her first season. Aly will get me through the move. I have six seasons to watch through over the next five days of hell. I need to find a painter TODAY. The floor man wi
MIDNIGHT PEACE ~ Contemporary Landscape by Laurie Justus Pace 16 x 20 inches Oil on Panel Contact me for commissions and pricing! Laurie Pace The studio almost echoes around me. I am preparing to paint a small longhorn for a commission that will go to Austin and work on a portrait of a young girl and her horse, also a commission. These will travel carefully to my mom's for drying as this is my last day to paint until we are in the new house. This is one of my favorite scenes to paint and they are all different but contain the same flavor of color and thick paint. Even prettier in person, these slip right into a frame and hang so nicely capturing light all around. Terry spent the day in the garage packing paintings and packing in general. We are both pretty worn out and just starting the process. In the midst of it all, my daughter sent out a dismal email saying they had closed her office and she was jobless. Merry Christmas Stacey Beth. This is a gift yet to open, a journey y
LAST LEAVES ~ Fall Landscape by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches Oil on Linen Panel Contemporary Art for the Home Contact me to purchase. $125 Laurie Pace As we pack up our home in Justin, I did one last painting of the leaves turning on the trees around me. There will be trees and leaves where we are moving, but not much land to look out on. Last night we took a load over to my mom's house. Basically boxes of china and crystal and paintings that have to be mailed next week. As we loaded the boxes...note I say we. Terry has to do the lifting of the boxes I packed, and of course they were heavy. He grunted and groaned under their weight and I scurried scooting dogs out of the way and opening and closing the doors to the garage as he passed through. The boxes fit snuggly in my daughter's SUV. (I traded my VW to her for the week.) The last box Terry carried out put me into a fit of laughter. He had picked up the box and began to walk. Somewhere the box hooked onto a spool
JACKSON THREE ~ Abstract Horse Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 22 x 28 inches Acrylic on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contemporary ART for the home. SOLD Short on time...have to finish four paintings today...two are underway and thank goodness the other two are small. THE CHRISTMAS CRUNCH is here and tie in moving and I am straying from the word Calm. The poor dogs are wandering around the maze of boxes very leery of what is happening. Terry says they will need a therapist downsizing their yard from an acre to a tiny city sq of land. This week has found them connected in a new way, laying shoved up against each other and when I am in the studio they lay snuggled up in the center of this small room. I literally cannot even move from the desk to get to the easel. Morgan packed the kitchen on Friday, so when I have the stress need to snack, there is nothing there. Actually there is brown rice and a box of Cheerios. I made a small pot of brown rice yesterday and ate it for lunch/dinner at thr
INDIAN PONY RUN ~ Abstract Horse Original Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contact me for Pricing. It is afternoon...I Left so early this morning I did not blog. I was up at four working on the rewrites of my PAINTED PONY 2nd edition book which is now available! Contact me for your copy if you want me to order and sign it before it comes to you. This painting is a bit more whimsical. I had this need to paint with values of green and from that need came this unusual flighty free painting. Stacey and I made a trip into Dallas this morning and did the hair and make up thing. I am exhausted but determined to finish one of two commission pieces promised out this weekend. I will be lashed to the easel tomorrow. Small posting today. Pray for those you love and know they rest in the arms of the Lord. Laurie “But as for me, my prayer is to you, O Lord. At an acceptable time, O God, in the abundance of your steadfast love, answer me.”—Psalm 69:13
