Horse 29 Two Together by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Two Together 9 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Second in the "out of the box" series still refining a different approach to the canvas and building up my determination and courage to do a very very large one soon.  Soft colors and a different palette create the textured back drop for these two pony pals standing in a field blooming with flowers. Such gorgeous weather.. and I spent most of yesterday in bed with a kidney stone... but the best part of the day was sitting outside around six enjoying the warmer weather, and watching Terry putter around the back yard. He goes off restriction today, so I know he has many plans ahead for the day. Paddy got a haircut yesterday too.. I need to take his picture for you! Will try to do that... and take pictures of the flower Terry is planning on finishing up in the backyard. He has nursed 13 rose bushes thr

Horse 28 Windstorm, Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Horse 28 Windstorm  9 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  I went climbed out of the box on the next few pieces I will be posting. Nothing like going one direction and ending up 180 degrees the other way. Soft colors blending and building creating an enticing surface to explore. This first one in this new approach is a single horse, painted while the winds were blowing about 65 mph outside in the storms we have had. SO I named this one Windstorm. In the middle of painting this the storm carried on outside my studio this past weekend. For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Racing the Morning Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Racing the Morning 28 x 42 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  This is a colorful burst of sunlight and energy as three horses race across the canvas. The details of this painting are gorgeous. Stop by the link above and see it up close and personal. Terry is healing nicely. He has four more days of restrictive living and he is counting the moments. This morning we awoke to the smoke detector going off... and that involved a ladder and a climb. He stayed in his boundaries changing out the battery but we made note that the ladder my dear father bought us 23 years ago was getting feeble...just like us. So next week after NASCAR has left the area, we will stop by and get a new ladder.  Makes the climb a bit less shaky. Also on the ladder the day before having to shove screen inside on of our side vents on the house. Birds had figured out how to flip the facial

Cloudy Sail, Contemporary Sailboat Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Cloudy Sailing 36 x 40  inches Oil on Canvas. SOLD Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Not my normal. WHY? Not enough color. Friend it is painted for wanted specific colors to match the room and it does do that. I felt like I was painting with my hands tied behind my back.  I do like it ...like it much better in person than in this picture. Sailboat leans with the wind on this cloudy day in this unusual sailboat painting. Terry had his corneal surgery last week, so my painting time is pretty limited. He has a two week of DO NOTHING but that two week of do nothing started with 48 hours on his back. That was not fun. We return to the doctor tomorrow to double check everything and one more time in about three more weeks. It takes four months before there could be stability in the eye they did surgery on.  God remains good...all the time bringing comfort to us. I read somewhere a quote on

Horse 26 Standoff at at the Brazos River, Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Standoff at the Brazos River 9 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  The deep dark shadows of the woods around the Brazos River flowing through Hill Country in Texas. This area is steeped with so much history you could fill hundreds of books. Shafts of golden sunlight cut through the trees and glisten at the riverbank. The lead horse reflects the greens and blues of the river as the light bounces off of it. What is happening in your life that bounces and reflects off of you onto others? As an artist I want to believe that my 'free' spirit weaves itself into my paintings and work. I want something deeper than just 'reflection.' I do not want the work to be lacking. Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds,  because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.  Let perseveran

Horse 25 Sunrise Graze, Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace aka Everything's Coming up Roses

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Horse 25 Sunrise Graze 8 x 8 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Lady L was here with me, can you tell? The challenge was to use lots of pink in this little gem of a horse painting... and I am drawn to the pink in the sunrise colors. I could easily see two horses standing side by side in the early breaking sunrise, grazing on the golden grass reflecting the sun's rosy gold colors. In my heart I am singing that old song, 'Everything's coming up Roses.' For you Millennials ... Meaning: you can say "everything's coming up roses" if everything is turning out very well for someone or for something. For you Baby Boomers and Generation X,  Meillennials are right on your heels. Birth years early eighties through early 2000's.  Seems like every generation has their nickname and with it a different outlook and goal for th

Horse 24 Walking the Lines, Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Walking the Lines 9 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Texture fills this new small equine painting. Texture filled with edges of paint, criss-crossing and forming hatches and jags throughout the surface of the horse painting. With a cool palette of blues, mauves and greens, accent colors pull strongly with the oranges contrasting the blues. What do you have in life that is a contrast for you? I really tend to be conservative and live my life without gambling or taking many chances. Strange though, this does not apply in my artwork. My artwork is the contrast in my life as well as one of the greatest gifts I have, the ability to create.  Terry laughs at me. I love to go into Lowe's or Home Depot and walk through the wood aisles.  I love the smell of wood. I believe in another life I would have been a carpenter as it is as much a part of me as my art. So

Horse 23 Blaze of White, Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Horse 23 Blaze of White 8 x 8 inches Oil on Canvas. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  The 'lushness' of spring is beginning to literally burst around us. Trees that had no leaves yesterday are dresses in a fuzz of light green today and probably by tomorrow a rich green layer of leaves open. The inspiration was the green of spring. The unique part of this horse is the unique blending of paint through the face of the horse around the right eye. I love the accidental flow of paint creating both energy with blends and excitement with lines. Have already had several spring horses so I gave this one a 'white blaze'.  In life do you 'blaze' through things? Are you known for a particular gift or talent? If you are, I give thanks that you recognize the bounty of what you have and that you will share it with others in service to others.  And this is my prayer: t
