PAINTINGS UNDER $200 PAINTINGS UNDER $500 This beautiful palette knife horse painting posted above  was created by leftover paint from scrapping another large piece. From it I did the one posted last week, the purple horse... and a few coming up. This one sold the moment I posted in my website! Thank you to the collector for adding this wild palette knife horse to her collection.  Where have I been? Well... how about a long story short?     I have been battling vertigo for two months. Seriously. But that has not stopped my Reels on FB and Instagram.  Last Friday, I broke my baby toe trying to dance down our front hall way in a hurry around the vacuum cleaner. It swelled up really bad and I was not able to wear shoes. I tried to wear them yesterday.

When I was younger, there were times I was really uncomfortable being alone. What I have learned in the past years is that silence and alone time builds a strength in understanding who I am, and that I can be comfortable in my life as this person created by God. Perhaps when we master the solitude of aloneness and quiet, we begin to find our self worth.   Too often in life today, we are pushed by our own thoughts and needs to finish or accomplish things. We all set goals that are unattainable and our self reflection is then that of failu

Laurie " Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice. " Luke 17:15 Next shot on the the children on the beach...stay tuned. When I woke yesterday morning I celebrated the joy of Sunday. Sunday is a day that symbolizes God's Day. A day to rest, honor, reflect, heal, praise and release to Him everything that is burdening me at the time. It was on this day yesterday that I spent the day in quiet mediation through out the day, in between the normal activities, focusing on healing and be ready for the week as it arrives this morning. With that healing prayer came health and strength from the Father. His serenity filled my mind, heart and soul. There was no room left for anxiety. I am sure before this day is over, anxious moments will return. Mondays and Tuesdays we have our 3 month old granddaughter to care

LOTS more varnish. Thanks! Painting is sold this morning. Contact me for Commission Work. Laurie "Then Abraham spoke up again: "Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, though I am nothing but dust and ashes,..." Genesis 18:27 Through the Dust Even in Dallas we get our fair share of dust storms from west Texas. You can see it coming across the horizon in the west and the sky begins to turn a murky yellow. You have about 20 minutes to get where you are going and get everything buttoned up and shut in the house. The dust begins blowing through and it is worse than fog because it hurts if you are out in it. It stings and bites as it hits your face and your arms. You definitely should not try and breath and it will scratch your eyes if you allow it to hit your face unprotect
OUTWARD BOUND 24 X 30 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all of you out there! I woke early this morning at four and have been continuous praying for the Tögel family. Conni's mom and dad had just landed in Germany for a visit and her dad was rushed to the hospital. I am not totally clear on exactly what, but think it was a blood vessel issue in the head. PLEASE keep them in prayer so far from home...altho Germany was their home until a year ago. I have been in Dallas the past few days, so not here painting or listing or doing my blog...but spending time with my mom and dad. Wish there was a manual for getting old and guidance for all the decisions we face. Our society has changed so much with families moving so far from each other and everyone working to keep up with our hunger to buy more and have better. I would love to have my parents living with us. My household is not quite as tight and neat as my mom's but I run it very close to how she runs
APPY THREE Horses Southwest Art 30 x 30 inches Acrylic on Canvas A Painting a Day Wednesday is painting day in the studio. It was good sleeping last night with rolls of storms blowing through and rumbling and raining all night! We expect the same today. Yesterday I experimented in the studio blocking with acrylic as a thicker underlay and doing some fun things. I worked on this one yesterday and it is more commercial looking I think. Working with Impasto and paint is always like playing with clay! Gonna roast a chicken today ....a huge one we can eat off of for a few days. Tomorrow is my student art show...and I have to prepare foods for that as well...will do some today and some tomorrow! Thoughts today....hummm, my brain is on letting go and moving on, forgiving to the core of your heart when you feel you have been stomped upon. Daily Word is on another subject. I think as an artist we are often more vulnerable than most folks. What's coming up? More horses, flowers and
Mountain Pony 30 X 30 inches Oil/Acrylic on Canvas A Painting a Day Sunday early with thoughts of the day ahead. This is a painting I did Friday as Conni watched it evolve. It went through several phases as I was in and out of the studio that day. Bottom layering of about three layers of impasto and Acrylic with blended scraped colors and then the etching of the horse in oils. The eye of the horse in oils as well. Definitely raw and wild. Today we will head up to Krum to a short church service and then I believe home to work, paint that is. Annie, Conni's seven year old has been a trooper. I taught her how to play Chinese Checkers last night and she beat me several times! She has sorted out coins for me ( I told her she could keep the quarters) and continues to mop the floor. I believe she likes my spray gun. We all attended the wedding of my close friends Deborah and Bill yesterday and then ran to my moms to visit her and dad. That found us around more food at ST cafe in Dall
Moonlight Two 18 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day Click here to bid. Saturday early morning and I have a mega painting day ahead. I played too much yesterday only finish a large flower I posted on Artbyus. This painting I finished the day before....GORGEOUS colors if you enlarge it....and subtle details. Terry is home today and will be working on our front flower beds. Change is in the air, feels more like fall, but it is spring. In our lives our arms are open for direction and we wait in anticipation for the gift God will provide. Meanwhile, we must give thanks for all we do have and know He will continue to provide the best of what we need. (Note NEED not WANT) Sometimes we do not allow ourselves the privilege of what we deserve in life, and then in other times we expect we are deserving of much more. I am only confident I have the tools and gifts He has given me and the wisdom to use them. Grace to all, Laurie It often amazes me as I write this blog daily, I do not re

Yesterday the buffet brunch at Blue Mesa was scrumptious. My Mom, Dad, both brothers and their wives, my niece, my daughter and her husband and my youngest son were all there with me. We were celebrating my younger brothers birthday! I had eaten there during regular dining hours, but not for the brunch on Sunday. I will have to do it again with Terry! THE RACE is over. I am soooo thankful. A trip of 10 min and 8miles took 45 minutes. Very painful. Later in the day that same trip would be almost
ON THE ROAD RED Horses 18 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas contact me for information Laurie Pace GOOD MORNING...and Brrr... did I say Brrr?? It is cold outside in north Texas. The kids are all out of school and my piano student is coming early today for her lesson and then I hope to paint in the studio. I am working on some Koi and Sunflowers that are both half way done. Nadine received two of her three commission pieces yesterday and is waiting for one more to arrive. I may post these pieces later next week so you can see them. She has been a constant delight to work with and a treasure to get to know. I hope the horses bring joy to her life and her home! I love painting for folks and allowing energy to flow through to the canvas thinking of that person and where the painting is going to live! The painting I have posted is another horizon horse piece with the crimson red background. Nadine bought my original of this approach, my first red background piece that had five horses in it!
MORNING HAZE ON THE HORIZON ~ Horses 18 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting A Day SOLD It is late on Saturday Afternoon. Just got Morgan off and heading home after we all enjoyed prime rib, new potatoes mashed, organically grown corn, and a fresh salad...all organic. We are pretty strict on that! Terry, Morgan and I took Paddy, our male Kerry Blue Terrier to the FT WORTH Dog Show today to see if he is show quality...which we found in disappointment he is not. He will be 'Fixed" in May....he definitely wigged out around all the dogs, but the handler was ABSOLUTELY great with him. We were more than impressed. I felt like a mom taking my child to school the first day and they sent him home! Painting this morning I started two different horses, but this one I posted I finished last week...one of my colorful horses on the horizon. I love these colors....that is why the name for the painting! It would hang nicely in our room. Have to close quickly...gotta clean the kitchen an
HORSE PLAY T2 Oil on Canvas 4 x 6 inches A Painting a Day SOLD Good morning. Short note today. IT IS MAC LESSON DAY! YEAH...but they only give me an hour. I have my list prepared for the genius behind the bar...they work with you one on one or you can take classes...as many as you want for only $99 a year....Terry and I will definitely get our money worth. Terry is packing paintings while I am printing shipping labels. We are late a day in shipping because of his flight on the B17. It was fascinating to watch from the ground...he was up almost 40 minutes though and took some great video. I became ill watching the video...ya know how the camera is bouncing and rolling??? AND when he would have to let go of the camera to hang on as the plane would drop and bank and tilt....well, the camera would go wildly loose out of his hands swinging on the neck rope.... I thought I would never get by the rolling stomach yesterday and that was from watching the movie he shot. Don't think I will
