Bevo Bound for the United Kingdom Contemporary Western Art Longhorn Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD and on its way this week to the UK 24 x 36 inches THICK OIL on Canvas Contact me for Commission work: Laurie "Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart." 2 Timothy 2:22 This bevo is going to go on a long trip from Texas to the UK. He is Texas Born and Bred. Not sure where the BORN and BRED came from, was it a movie? I know in the UK they had a show entitled Born and Bred about four years ago. I think this little fellow will like his new surroundings and will take a bit of Texas with him; he was after all born/created on Texas soil. You were born here on earth, on God's soil. This is God's turf isn't it? If you were blessed you grew up in a family that took care of the "Bred" part and brought you up as a His child in His word. Or maybe later in
LONGHORN SUMMER SOLD Monday...WE ARE PACKING TODAY and Morgan is moving in for the next week. He is the best house sitter with the dogs. Our dogs are not the friendliest dogs to strangers. We taught them well on stranger danger. In my head I am compiling one thousand things to be done today. The other side of my brain is in prayer saying, GIVE IT TO GOD. One thing at a time and we will get to where we are suppose to be. Yesterday I spent the day in the studio tying up last ends and cleaning up. Still have to mop the floors. I have wash going, already cleaned out the pantry for traveling food...we are heading to Whole Foods for last minute travel things and water and then we may take on the washing of the dogs. They are pretty dirty and I could not get them in at the groomer. I do not know if I will be able to blog every day when we are on the road. Most places do have internet but if it takes any thinking other than turning on the computer I struggle. In fact I need to add to the
THE TEXAS THREE Texas Longhorns Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 36 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contemporary Art for the Home SOLD on Daily Painters. THANK YOU!! Saturday has not dawned. It is about five fifteen, but I am up to evacuate the area. Today is race day, well today and tomorrow and the Texas Motor Speed Way is a definite problem when you live out here. Stacey and I are bound for an early morning sale and then into Dallas to hunt for a place for Terry and I to move. I have to make a list this time before house shopping. I didn't do that when we bought this house! Pray for our family as we find a new home. Shalom, Laurie "You have heard of this hope before in the word of the truth, the gospel that has come to you. Just as it is bearing fruit and growing in the whole world, so it has been bearing fruit among yourselves from the day you heard it and truly comprehended the grace of God.”—Colossians 1:5-6
Little Tex ~ Longhorn Steer by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas October first.... wow and it still feels like summer outside. I must be in Texas. Sometimes I wonder WHY my parents moved here when I was four years old. I would have truly picked a better climate! This is my longhorn I did for the Dallas show, but it did not dry enough for it~ Thick paint was the problem! Inner peace...often hard to maintain when trouble seems to brew daily in our lives. We seem to complicate our every day existence by all of our commitments we make to everyone. Try to stay focused today on the peace that the Lord gives you so freely and you ignore so routinely. I leave you with the thoughts of peace that are there in your heart and mind...breath deeply and place yourself in God's light. Grace, Laurie “Live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.”—2 Corinthians 13:11
Florida Brown Longhorn, Commission Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 48 x 72 inches Oil on Canvas CONTEMPORARY ART FOR YOUR HOME Well, it is almost done. Back and forth with Hilary in Florida yesterday from yellows and marigolds to tans and buttercreams...I am hoping it is dry by Christmas...but it knocked the socks off all the art moms browsing through yesterday. One of the students named it Tex! Old Tex is going to live in Florida. Hilary and I are debating on HOW to ship it. I want to let it dry and then take it off the stretchers and mail it. She would like it to stay together and is trying to figure it out how else to get it there. I was giggling when she said she would drive over to pick it up. Well it fits flat on the bottom of my truck bed, but ....not sure about an suv. Maybe a big van! What a commotion yesterday during art class. Careflight landed at the church across the side road from us. The kids were in a tizzy with the noise. Outside we found an ambulance waitin
Chicago Bound Texas Longhorn 24 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD COMMISSION WORK I just finished this commission piece for a Texan now living in Chicago. Can you guess they went to UT? This was a peaceful painting for me as I am beginning to get back into my grove of painting. My right hand is still sore but much more functional than it was. This is one of my pull paintings as I pull color through the surface of the canvas using impasto mixed with the oil...then the longhorn emerges! The paint is again close to 1/4 inch in some places! Today is my MRI. OPEN MRI, but the man said it would still be noisy...I am not smiling as I woke with a migrane today. We cannot eat either...having blood drawn in an hour so I can't have a cup of hot peppermint tea. More later...meanwhile be a good steward today...care for all God has given you, the people in your life, your home, the animals....God gives so much to us, every single second...remember to give thanks! Grace, Laurie
