It is an expression of someone who is too involved in the details of a problem to look at the situation as a whole.  Just think about your life.  I know I focus on everything in my day and always weighing my decisions on different outcomes I might chose. I have to stop myself and remind myself that GOD made these forests.... all the details...  but each little tree tends to side track me and I miss the overall situation stuck on small details. Do you do this in your life? Psalm 33:10  "May he

Letting go of the past means you can enjoy the dream that is happening right now.” ― Miguel Ruiz, The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom I do not like giving up control.   It creates a feeling of hopelessness and being helpless.  My parents taught me to always take control of situations and see them through.  With age I am learning quite the opposite.  Seems to work to my advantage if I surrender all of it to God.  Living in the NOW is important.  Forg

Walt Whitman Do you have any friends that are not judgmental?  Do you realize how hard it is to find someone like that? Most of us have grown up in a world where we feel our opinion of things is important and especially feel our opinion of others and what they are doing is spot on.  Guess what... it is not.  We cannot walk in someone else's shoes to know what has made up all the experiences they have had in life. It is not our business if someone choses to leave work early or take a longer lunch.  If a co-worker or even a family me

Today you're here and nothing you do will change that. Today you are alive and here and honored and blessed with good fortune. Look at this suset, it's beautiful, neh? This sunset exists. Tomorrow does not exist. There is only now. Please look. It is so beautiful and it will never happen ever again, never, not this sunset, never in all infinity. Lose yourself in it, make yourself one with nature and do not worry about karma, yours, mine, or that of the village.” ― James Clavell We simply cannot take over the wor

I grew up with that saying "The grass is never greener on the other side of the fence." Maybe I am more cautious with bridges for just that reason.  Where do you invest your life? Where do you spend your tim

Beginning Again... Hazy Days of Summer

Scott Fitzgerald Getting close to the end of the summer. The heat cannot fade away fast enough. This painting reminds me of the haze of water on the roads when it is so hot and the roads look like there are shimmering puddles from the heat. That seems to be how life is. So much looks like shining good things to us through the mist of the media...all  the treasures we seek in life. But

To keep your truth in sight you must keep yourself in sight and the world to you should be a mirror to reflect to you your image; the world should be a mirror that you reflect upon.” ― C. JoyBell  Do you ever sit and reflect on things in life?  An artist often uses a mirror reflection of a painting to see where the composition may be off or need work. A reflection is more honest to the artist than looking directly at the painting. Seeing things in reverse always show up every imperfection. So are re

Old leather tack, lengths of chain, rope, and baling twine dangled from nails and rafters and draped over stall railings. Generations of pocket knives lay lost in the layers of detritus on the floor.” ― Carolyn Jourdan My grandparents had a farm in St Louis.  I know there must have been a barn but I mainly remember the main farmhouse, the 'outhouse' and the

It can turn a dry parched field to green with flourishing vegetation.  What do you think it can do to your life?  Wouldn't you like new inspirations and a new perspective for life? We are blessed daily by prayers, smiles, nature, music, literature and the quiet of the day. God will provide solutions when you feel you have hit a wa
