NIGHT FLIGHT Abstract Horse Oil Painting Palette Knife by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD off Daily Painters! Thank you for your support! 24 x 24 x 2 inches Oil on Canvas. Contact me to purchase, mention the title of the painting: Laurie Friday. Yes I watched the debate last night. Did you? Learning and gaining insight and wisdom should be our job right now. I am watching the economy wavering thinking in my 55 years on earth I have never seen anything like this. I don't think my kids understand how dangerous it is right now. I am not one to panic but rather to gather what I need and make careful decisions with prayer on where to go and what to do. Our future depends on American Airlines for Terry and for me just folks that can still buy artwork. When I think of the parable of the talents from the bible it gives way for reflection. A man calls his servants together in a meeting. He hands each of them some money wanting to see how they will handle the money. One servant received five

WITH ATTITUDE Horse Oil Painting By Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Inquiries: Laurie PAINT PAINT and I cannot wait. Mom and I were in here until after ten last night. I started her on her own painting. I did some washes on some canvas in preparation for today. I get to paint today! My house is screaming with dust, But I will clean it on FRIDAY!!! We took mom on a road trip yesterday at her request. We drove up to Bonham TX to look at the VA facility and the town. She kept saying it reminded her of Sherman TX. It is a pretty nice town and is closer to the Red River and Oklahoma. We toured the state Vet Nursing home. It was gorgeous... only 7 years old...filled with light and love and people working there that ENJOYED THEIR JOBS! Oh my gosh, what a difference. I could tell mom liked it because the walls were all painted green in the front area. In the Alzheimers unit they are soft blues. Colors are used to soothe and blue is a quieting color. What was neat, from the moment
Nibbles Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 8 x 10 inches For inquiries: Laurie Mom is still on the mend here at our house. We have a quiet home with a healing essence with its cocooning feel. We are hoping to get her moved into her new place in a day or two. My brothers have worked with their wives to finish the unpacking and provide a sanctuary for her to live in while we take on the remaining boxes. There is still much to be sorted and given away. We all seem to horde things as we go through this life and if I have learned anything from all our moves, nothing is life or death...it is all just stuff. Terry and I were on our way back from FEDEX yesterday and on LBJ Freeway that circles Dallas. Traffic was horrendous. An 18 wheeler next to us kept drifting into our lane. I was on the phone trying to reach my older brother to make sure he had directions to the doctor's office for mom and I was visiting with my dad. I screeched as the truck lurched at us and Dad was concer
A Pair of Cows Farm Animal Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches of Thick Oil Paint. Contact me for information: Laurie We completed our Medications class and only have one more class to renew for our Foster License. We saw some of the couples last night that were in our classes a year ago, also renewing their license with updating classes. She had given birth to a baby 8 months ago and had her little one with her. I am thinking they had three other children at home and they are doing fostering. She laughed and said they were licensed 5 weeks ago and they were called with in hours to take a brand new infant from the hospital. SO she has a new baby at home along with her four! THAT is not what we will do! We will offer respite care to foster homes that need it as well as foster adopt a teenager. God is in control on this one and you better believe Terry and I are walking on the water with Jesus with this one! There are moments of pure panic, WHAT ARE WE DOING??? The
WHITE IRIS 8 x 10 on Linen Panel Contact me to purchase, mention the name of the painting please! Laurie SOLD on Daily Painters! Thank you. I am late this morning blogging. I had work issues to handle before I could start my day. This is a delicate painting I did yesterday. Very soft and very sweet! Someone in your life is sitting in darkness. Someone in your life is trying to shield his eyes from the light. Someone in your life is trying to find the light. Today is the day you can reach out to them, extending your hand to guide them into the light. We are unable to physically pull any one from the dark. The journey must be theirs with the Lord. We are there to encourage and love unconditionally. Give what you can today. Light a life with your love. Grace, Laurie "Feed the hungry and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness and the darkness around you will be as bright as day." Isaiah 58:10
FILLY IN BLUE Horse Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 36 inches of Oil on Canvas Contact me for pricing and mention the title of the painting. Laurie Yes, I was up too early this morning ( four a.m.). Terry took off Mother's Day and is working for someone else today. Life at American Airlines...go figure. Still trying to digest FURP. Families Under Reduced Pay. Pilots, Mechanics, Flight Attendants...matters not...we are all FURP. Mechanics were making $55,000 in the early nineties. Just before 911 we had been on a wage freeze for 10 years...and FINALLY saw a raise in pay of about $20,000 a year that brought us into reality for all the cost of living raised over the prior ten years of our salary freeze. (Yes it was cold) Finally we could breath and not take the calculator to the store every time we grocery shopped. We had kids in college and a house note to pay. We had this wonderful increase for about 18 months. WHAM... the company was failing... all of us took cuts;
PEACE IN THE FOREST Landscape Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 36 inches of Oil on Canvas Contact me for pricing and mention the title of the painting. Laurie Behind before the day starts! It is almost seven and I am not even ready to paint. Am waiting to get there though! This is a painting that has been in my heart for a while and yesterday I was finally able to get it to the canvas. It is a bit different, but Sometimes you have to take a chance and explore other things in life. This weekend is the Chili cookoff with our Sunday School Class. Terry is making his personal chili that is always good. I am trekking off trying something out of the box. Hawaiian Chili. The folks as Whole Foods laughed at me. Chili does not come from Hawaii. I know that, but I wanted different flavors and decided in the beginning I wanted to use Ginger and Pineapple in my chili and began researching recipes to blend with my recipe. Mine does have Chicken in it, which seems really different, so we will

I am hoping Terry and I can hop a flight out to visit and see it
JOINED AT THE HIP Landscape Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD $750 18 x 27 inches Contact me for similar commission work! Laurie (Gee, I dream about a long painting of trees like this 24 x 48 inches in length....) The last two years in the summer I have done trees and I guess I am back doing a few again. As I was laying in bed last night with my sketchbook in hand I was sketching out trees everywhere. In my mind I see this large painting 24 x 48 inches with these heavy oak trees going across... you would feel like munchkin in the midst of it as you view it. May have to do it anyway. This painting went out in one of my few mailers to top collectors and went with in hours. They have a painting called "the other side of the world" which had a unique touch similar to this and had a good feel to mix the two in the room...or that is what she said when she phoned. Terry is home today and we are off to church in just a few moments. More of the wonderful Jack Van Vessem Sunda
SOFT NUDE Nude Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 15 x 30 SOLD I do not think I am quite finished, will work on the face some more today, but it is close. I started this yesterday and went through so many revisions my head spins. My usually nudes are colorful and thick with paint. This one is soft and solid at the same time. I am listening to harp music here in the studio and with it's softness I am ready to go back to bed. Thought I was going to run errands with my mom, but that was canceled, so I will paint today. God's perfect presence is with in you today and you will be healed. It may not be from something you have in mind, but it will be for something he has on his mind. Our perfect good and our delight has always been primary in his plan for each of us. Step back from your priorities and your supplications and listen to what He has for your life. It is perfect for it is His plan. Grace, Laurie "The man and his wife were both naked , and they felt no shame.&qu

SOLD Under The Blue Tree April 17, 2008 Laurie Justus Pace Excerpt from book THE ART OF LIFE to be released Fall 2008 At five o’clock you will find me under the blue tree. We all have days that seem to never end, with events that make us Question why we even got out of bed that day. This is when you will find me listening to the birds as I sit under the Blue Tree. The Blue Tree is an older tree with heavy bark. You can Close your eyes and feel the energy of its years. My world becomes still. Slowly I regain my balance Sitting under the Blue Tree. My easel is calling me! I painted hard and heavy yesterday and want to hit it this morning. I made the decision yesterday to use part of my writings along with my art work to publish a book which will be available this fall. I will note every painting used in the book by some type of verse under it, like the posting is today. Th
BOYS ON THE BEACH Azawakh Sight Hound Dog Art Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 48 inches SOLD . Commission Painting heading to the UK Contact me for commission Work and Pricing. Laurie This painting was unbelievable to paint. From the moment the photo arrived via the internet I was hooked. Nothing was going to get done in the studio until I painted these boys on the beach. I hope you enjoy the view and can feel the fun and play of these two gorgeous Azawakhs that live it the UK. (Azawakhs are sight hounds that originated in Mali.) Short blog today as I am going to try and cram cleaning the house in before leaving this morning for the hair dresser. I worked in the studio until eight thirty last night. Terry was watching TV. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like not to have to be responsible for so much stuff. Here it was getting late and I still was facing: cleaning paintbrushes, cleaning Annie's eyes and giving her medicine, emptying the dryer and folding two loads
WHITE FLOWERS BLUE VASE Flower Art by Laurie Justus Pace 14 x 18 inches SOLD RAIN is falling and the lightening is bright this morning. Poor Annie Dog, we gave her meds last night for the storm as it was predicted to hit around three this morning. As we got up at five, it was still not here and she is not drugged very well as it is hitting. Weather forecast was a bit off. Meanwhile despite the rain, all is functioning here but my brain. I need to make more lists! I have quite a few commissions I will be working on today and tomorrow getting them started. I finished up the 24 x 48 of Azawakhs running on the beach. You will see it probably tomorrow in my blog. It is a very powerful painting. I heard from Morgan and Hillary in Washington DC. They were with my friend Niki of Sunrise Tourette and they were doing karaoke. Wish I could have been there to hear my son sing. Today they will begin teaching the art classes we put together last weekend so my prayers are with them as the pr
SUNLIGHT ON THE LANDING Azawakh Sight Hound Dog Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 36 inches CONTACT ME FOR COMMISSION WORK. LAURIE SOLD COMMISSION PAINTING Thursday has arrived and it is muggy outside. Hillary and Morgan are on their way to the airport to fly to Washington DC to do the art program for the Tourette Syndrom teens at the conference. We have pre-shipped all the supplies so the rest is up to them to complete the mission. It was nice to be able to have them take on this responsibility for me. They promise to take many pictures. Did you sleep well last night? I did pretty good until about three when I woke with a nasty sinus headache. Our humidity is harsh right now and storms are expected later this evening. I crawled out of bed and took some Tylenol. I was back to sleep not too long after and barely woke up in time at five to get Terry up and out to work. I always feel like Bed is the Comfy place to withdraw to. The bedroom is the safety zone. It is there
FLOWER LIGHT Flower Art Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches SOLD ON DAILY PAINTERS! Thank you! NOTE: Martha, the artist, that left the comment, please email me and give me your email address so we can visit! The paint is thick on this one! Layers thick. Not sure where it came from, but it took me back to feeling like I was 10 years old as I painted it in freedom with out constraints. Wednesday morning is here and the thought remains that I am still behind. I took two days off from painting and have some needed commissions to work on today. One is a horse but small, 11 x 14 size and one is an Azawakh. This is a Sighthound. I am eager to do both today! On the house front, Terry has been sheet rocking to repair what was torn out for rewiring. Darla will be back today to do a dedicated line for my computer. Next week we will take on the box. Do you believe in Miracles? I picked up a book from Barnes and Noble called "A Course in Miracles". (Wondering about
TINY IRIS Flower Art Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 15 x 30 inches SOLD ON DAILY PAINTERS> THAN YOU!!! I am up. I am up. I am up. Terry is not. Terry is not. Terry is not. BUT he will be. We did all of our shipping to the Blanco gallery yesterday and I sent about 6 paintings out to a new collector in Nevada. SO we had a lot of work going out. Sometimes in life we are faced with some major life changing decisions. Sometimes we don't want to face them and we put them off. EVERY day we face challenges and minor decisions and some of those we do not want to deal with either. Many of us turn to our "mother" or our "best friend" to have a discussion about things. (Goes back to my brother's story about the pubs in the UK and how beneficial they are.) But there is always something that comes up that is even too difficult to put in words. We don't want others that love us to know what anguish is in our hearts and what pulls at our minds in the m
The Reflections of Light Horse Abstract by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD OH my gosh, it is Saturday and I have no idea what time. I looked outside and it is light already, my stomach is growling and it is after nine....I forgot to blog. I was so busy painting Whippets this morning I forgot to blog. This is one of my smaller horse pull paintings venturing into a new color palette. It reminds me of light and earth pulled together with the horses. We only lack one more room and a hall for lights! YEAH and thank you Darla and hubby Terry. I can do switches when I walk through the house, altho Terry does have a lot of patch work to do with the sheet rock. Had lunch with my parents, brother, Uncle Carl and cousin Martha and her hubby yesterday. Martha and Carl came back over to see the house. I miss seeing her so it was a wonderful day. She is younger than I am, and she is the closest thing I have to a sister. She is a wise loving woman that I respect and go to when I need grounding. Do you ha
CELEBRATE SPRING Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 36 inches Contact me to purchase. Laurie Tuesday is here and we slept in past seven this morning. We were up at three trying to find a noise in the wall. No we didn't find it! This morning I am doctor bound with family members and then home to paint as I am two days behind.... still trying to catch up. But yesterday was great! We have working switches in the kitchen! YEah and they will do more today. Hopefully the halls and the bedroom...then the last will be over the piano. ALSO received several surprises yesterday. Felt like Christmas. We picked up a beautiful Danish chair for the house sent by a dear friend and boxes arrived from her with new dishes that look like they were custom made for the house. I cannot wait to use them today and every day. They are soft greens, blues and warm browns. Patio Garden by Pfaltzgraff. Today is short on posting. My painting will be changing up more over the next month and
Cat and Horse My Buddy and Me Series LARGE Format by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches Oil on Canvas SOLD ON DAILY PAINTERS! Thank you for supporting the arts. Daylight Saving definitely was not God's plan for us or he would have adjusted the day and night. I asked Terry this morning what states did NOT do it because I wanted to move there. I can't buy into the thought that this saves energy. We are only on real time four months out of the year. Why doesn't Congress just outvote the Lord and his creation and make DLS permanent? I truly dislike DLS. Last night as Terry and I were trying to go to sleep by nine thirty old time/ten thirty new time, the phone rang. Often the phone rings in the middle of the night and it is a collect call from an inmate at the Dallas County Jail and always that is disturbing as I refuse the call hoping it is NOT one of my children or a relative in jail. BUT, it was our CPA out in California calling to go over our return. Here it is Sat nigh
