There are others who need your help. There are feet to steady, hands to grasp, minds to encourage, hearts to inspire, and souls to save.” — THOMAS S. MONSON A man leaving and retiring from his job is HARSH. Terry was not ready to retire from American Airlines.  He was only 58 but really sick with pneumonia and had missed many months of work.   Once we got moved, he walked twice to three times daily at the lake.  Sunrise with the deer running by us, Sunset with birds flying around settling for the night and at least one other time during the day.  READ MORE HERE. “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.” — MATTHEW 7:13 Laurie Pace  -  A Texas Artist

Trish Yearwood Every time I think of the floods from Houston and Harvey, I remember the stories of not just the people, but those of the animals, horses, dogs, livestock... One call out on FB was from a frantic horse person that discovered a large group of horses stranded by water.  A fence would have to be cut, horses had to be lead out of the area through deep water and then there needed to be horse trailers for them and a rescue place as well. But in less than 30 min, the area was full of peopl

Quiet Evening with You, Contemporary Figurative Art by Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Quiet Evening with You 24 x 36  inches Acrylic  on Canvas. SOLD  This is an older painting from about 2006.  I wanted to blog so I pulled an archive this morning. With thoughts of Valentine's Day on Friday, but the responsibility of chasing a four year old for the past three days... I would LOVE a quiet evening with my husband where I am not so tired that I fall asleep during the six o'clock news. #chasingchildren Having Lady L here has really changed the 'pace' of the household.  This morning I was up at 5:45 to be ready when Larry dropped Lady L off to us for the new day.  Normally we are not up and moving before seven thirty, so it was a struggle getting those contacts in before my eyes were open. What I Have Learned:  They stay energetic all day.... and till the late hours of the night and again in the early hours of the next day EXCEPT Except whe

Blue Hills Palette Knife Landscape Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Blue Hills in progress, Landscape palette knife painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace 40 x 40 inches Oil on Canvas     There are four layers of color on the sky right now and three layers on the blue hills in the background. The line of trees in the distance has about six layers and I have not actually started the three trees that are blocked in yet. The back field has four layers of color and will get more today. I am working my way forward in the composition. I was excited by the tiny bit of reds in the back tree line peaking out and hope to discover more seasoning colors as I work today. ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2012  Contact me for your own commissioned painting or to purchase this piece: Laurie      Prosperity "For to all those who have, more will be given, and they will have an abundance." Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery ." Galatians 5:1 The Painting : Done in 2006 when Morgan was doing his Flag Series a collector asked for a "Peter Max" type flag and this piece was created. Morgan does 99 percent of the flags here. They are collected around the world. His most sought after had the pledge of allegiance on them. The Thought: It is always hard on the blog to pin point the exact days. This is read by many of you on Saturday if you come directly to the blog. For others it is mailed out to be received for Sunday. So I chose to post the flag knowing that the majority of you would get this flag on the fourth of July, Saturday... for those ge

Racing the Wind Contemporary Art Palette Knife Horse Art Daily Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 48 OIL thick! COMMISSION SOLD and still wet, waiting to ship for the holidays Contact me for a gift, still time to paint and ship it to you! Laurie RED, she told me she loved the painting I posted yesterday. She had seen the original I posted 10 days ago before I repainted the orange background. RED, she wanted Red. She had also seen the one I painted that was three horses in a 30 x 36 inch venue...she loved that red, so I combined the two looks into one for the PERFECT RED painting for her. What is fun is sending pictures along the way so the collector can see the process as it goes and grows. This is painting that is enjoyable and very creative. Racing the Wind will head up to New York where it will live in the gorgeous four season state! Texas only has two seasons, Hot and Warm. Thank You Notes . VIOLETS Contemporary Art Watercolor Violet Flower Daily Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 8 x 10 inches on 300 lb watercolor paper. SOLD Contact me for Commission work: Laurie Monday is almost half way over and I am just getting here! NO I did not sleep late. That is wishful thinking. We were up by six thirty this morning and had breakfast together watching the news in the kitchen. Terry is busy boxing 10 pieces heading to The Red Tree Gallery in Atascadero California. She has just about sold out of my work. This takes more time as the pieces are all framed and more precautions have to be taken with boxing. I did this yesterday. Enjoy and be kind. Me, I am doing all the darn bookwork and lists and pricing and COAS etc. More work today, rarely a day off. Although yesterday we made a ran to Asel Art for Canvas for some commission paintings and then stopped by to see some of our oldest friends, Mike and Cindy Davis. They were part of the same high school group with Sheriff Elect Paul

YOUNG GRAY contemporary art horse mixed medium horse painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches watercolor and acrylic on gallery wrap canvas. contact me to purchase: Laurie Brr, it is cold outside! Saturday morning it is 6:30 am and I just finished taking pictures of this painting above that I did yesterday. This is mixed mediums using watercolor and acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas, so it does not have to be framed. I would frame it though. This is my third painting in this new series. I have just started a new blog yesterday called www.LakewoodSeries.blogspot.com . Here I am posting the fictitious journal of Lauren Mooring, a character in my first book of this series. I started writing these in 2002 and I was not directed toward any market, but when I began editing two years ago I switched to the venue for Christian fiction. I have several favorite Christian fiction authors that wow me at times with their writing. Others are more bland and not as articulate, but still go
