A Walk in the Garden, Figurative Children Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 A Walk in the Garden  36 x 48 inches Oil on Canvas. SOLD  This was a commission done in 2011 and one of my favorites to paint. There was a woman that wanted a small original painting I had done similar to this. She died shortly thereafter and her husband commissioned this for their home.  She told him it reminded her of her life as a child with her sisters.  I am always touched by the stories and the love and spirit that works into each of my paintings.     Even to your old age and gray hairs     I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you;     I will sustain you and I will rescue you. Isaiah 46:4 POST NOTE:  On the 23rd of September will be my first posted lesson for art for adults. I am hoping to do it at least once a week. Laurie Pace A Texas Artist Pace Studio  Graphics One Design My Blog          My Website          Gic

Curb Side Discussion by Texas Artist Laurie Justus Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Curbside Discussion  . SOLD  This was a photo taken from a block party where there were families everywhere and children clustering having fun.  Again a break from the horses and so much fun to do. Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe... Staying with the 'toos' in life and the busy bees...this certainly brings it back as a subject again this morning.  If you are on the broad road in life you are living broadly... participating in life broadly, eating broadly, involving yourself broadly in multiple areas of work, enjoyment and pleasure. You find it easy to explain things and rationalize things so you can continue in your lifestyle.  Click here to read more. Abstract Figurative Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

The Wanderers 24 x 36 inches  Oil on Canvas   Contemporary Abstract Figurative Pulled Paintings  by Laurie Justus Pace  This is where I went as I began to rework the painting and I love the results. The harsh lines are gone and the blending of the colors lead directly into individual spaces of figures. ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011   Contact me for your own commissioned painting  or to purchase this piece: Laurie       Blending of Spirits Whenever two are more are gathered ...there is a blending of spirits.  First out of the box, I count that as God and me.  His Spirit remains with me day and night and when I am in prayer with Him, for me there is a blending of His Holy Spirit with my physical being.  How else do you have blending of the spirit? When I paint, I have to blend my spirit with His for the painting to have depth and feeling in its composition.   The next thing that pops in my mind is marriage. When two become as one, b

Sisters in the Sand, Figurative painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Sisters in the Sand Commission Gift 20 x 20 inches  Oil on Canvas     ©Laurie Pace Graphics One Design 1998-2011   This was painted from a photograph on a beach a long time ago.  I was suppose to do the painting last year but could not find where I have packed the photograph but I came across the sketches I had completed for the painting... so I was able to paint the picture. Two young sisters on the beach, the older one trying to pick up the younger one who is basically leery of the incoming water from the ocean.  The little one looks like she has on someone's t-shirt over her diaper or swimming suit. Forgiveness Seems like an easy thing, a good word, but oh so hard to deal with.  We often allow anger to cause bitterness in our lives. It is so easy to blame someone else for situations when at times we are at fault.  It is not that we need to forgive someone else, but that we need to ask for forgiveness from someone else.  In our mind's eye, we are always the hurt pa

Progress Red Ribbon Lacing Acrylic Mixed media Painting in Progress by Texas Artist Laurie Pace, Who lives there?

Red Ribbon Lacing 20 x 30 inches  Mixed Media on Canvas Still in progress I think. I keep working on it and stepping back and working on it more. It reminds me of my niece.       Contact me if you are interested in Red Ribbon Lacing. Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2011 On the way to church yesterday we were hurtling down the back country roads viewing land around us still void of leaves with spring just beginning to arrive.  I noticed a house off to my right I had never seen before.  It was built facing to the sides so the front and back were not in view of the road. I could see a nice pond in the back and the house was high up from the pond with a beautiful deck. There were stairs down to the pond... LOTS of stairs.  The house was immaculate and so beautiful nestled in the cove of trees about 300 yards off the road in a slight valley.  Wonder who lives there? We turned onto Hwy 115 and there was a quaint soft blue frame house off to the left. It w

Progress on A Walk in the Garden with Him, Figurative Child Painting Garden by Texas Artist Laurie Pace, Praying for Others

Progression on A Walk in the Garden with Him 3 ft by 4 ft  Oil on Canvas     Sold Commission   Contact me for your own painting. Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2011 PRAYING FOR OTHERS One of the most joyous gifts of painting commission work is the spiritual connection you develop with the new collector.  You truly begin to learn more about them and as you paint and share comments; a small relationship begins to bud.  I love this part of the gift as it allows me to connect with both God and the collector.   I pray deeply before starting  a painting and always before I work on it, sometimes during and always as I am finishing up. This commission piece I am doing honors the life of a woman lost from cancer to her husband and family.   The husband has shared so much of her "fast progressing journey" with cancer as well as how grounded she was in God. Her faith was strong and her love for others (she was a PHD in counseling) was second in her l

Progression A Walk at Sunrise in His Garden, Figurative children Painting, Flower Garden by Texas Artist Laurie Pace, Layers of a Lifetime with God

Progression on A Walk at Sunrise in His Garden 3 ft by 4 ft  Oil on Canvas       SOLD Commission Contact me for your own painting. Laurie    © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2011  Layer by Layer. As I progress with this painting I end up layering the paint, building up both texture and value depth through the glazing of translucent colors mixing with vibrant under-laid colors. Tomorrow I will start on the girls and I am excited. Isn't life like that? Layer on Layer? I do not even want to think of how many layers I have over my lifetime.  Every day we probably add a hundred layers or more in experience and growth. Each of us should be quite dimensional by now.  Sometimes like in painting, you may be tempted to use a cover layer to hide a mistake. In art and painting there are no mistakes, just creativity. In living and believing in God as the main source of all, there are no mistakes there either.  We go through the days of our lives enduring growth

Laurie    © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2011 I made more progress on the girls in the garden painting. Terry came in and took a picture as I working in the far left lower corner. I had just finished the rock wall behind the bench and was putting in shadows behind the girls. This painting definitely makes me look forward to spring planting and the flowers coming up in the back yard. Nature's Beauty The earth is blessed with the beginning of Spring. Debbie Lincoln put on facebook yesterday that she had early signs of bluebonnets in her yard. That is the Texas State Flower.. they are a sign of spring here in the Lone Star State. Reaching out past the boundaries of the small town we live in, the rest of the state has the lower part of the Rocky Mountains, Big Bend area, the Gulf coast, the central plains and the Piney

Fishing Buddies Figurative Oil Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace, The Breath of God

Fishing Buddies 16 x 16 ft  Oil on Canvas     SOLD  Contact me for your own painting. Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2011 There is something in the air.... FLOATING.... light as a cloud and crystal clear... on the wind and not so near.   Childhood memories come tumbling back on the wind blowing around us. Closing my eyes I can feel a bubble brush upon my check. It suddenly popped, leaving a soapy lightness kissing my cheek. Bampa sits on the porch making bubbles with his sweet granddaughter. His patience never ending for over an hour as she chased bubbles across the yard.   Simplicity in the play. Beautiful crystal bubbles in all sizes dancing through the air as small hands reach up to, stretching in hope to grasp the elusive sphere floating upward to God. God's breath of wind fills each  of these crystal spheres. Simplicity. The breath of God... have you felt it on your face recently? With winter leaving us and spring arriving,

It would probably takes months of this to raise Dallas out of the drought situation we have been in for about 8 years now...but days and days of clouds is beginning to get old. Throw in 90 degrees plus in temperature and you have a humid sticky day. Yesterday was the same I think. It was one of those days I worked in the studio from 5:30 am until 7:30 last night. Somewhere around five pm I realized I had not had ANY WATER all day. I had not been out of this room but one time for some cheese and fruit around noon. No wonder I was a basket case.
