WOW... summer has truly begun.  I almost used a different quotes this morning... “Imagining the future is a kind of nostalgia. (...) You spend your whole life stuck in the labyrinth, thinking about how you'll escape it one day, and how awesome it will be, and imagining that future keeps you going, but you never do it. You just use the future to escape the present.” ― John Green, Looking for Alaska...  This painting thoug

Hesitation in progress, sketch on Canvas, Contemporary Fine Art by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Sketch on Canvas "Hesitation"  18 x 24 inches Oil on Canvas.  I have had this sketched out for about three weeks, but the Artists of Texas has their fifth annual art show in Dallas opening in about a month and I had to finish the show book.  So painting has been not happening in my studio despite the pre-sketched canvases along the wall.  Little Girl on the Beach... painting to be soon. Stay tuned for another child at the beach in a different palette. I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith. I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters,[d] that I planned many times to come to you (but have been prevented from doing so until now) in order that I might have a harvest among you, just as I have had among the other Gentiles.   Romans 1:11-13 L

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Water's Edge   24 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas. I think I am done with this one.  Here is a close up of the girl: This one seem to flow from the knife as it cut across the canvas with the water, the waves and the light filtering through the young girl's dress.  Tentatively she edges to the water lapping in at her feet... Water's Edge, Child on the Beach So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.  Genesis 1:21 Laurie Pace A Texas Artist Pace Studio  Graphics One Design My Blog          My Website          Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards          CFAI.co      GALLERY LINKS Mirada Fine Art Denver CO ,   The Rare Gallery Jackson Hole WY   The White Dog Galle

Water's Edge in Progress by Texas Contemporary Artist Laurie Pace

This is from a photo that I have painted from before and it was time to change up the background and adjust things for a different feeling. Nothing pulls at the heart more for me than painting a child standing before the wide open ocean... realizing it is vast what is before her... just as her life is before her. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.  1John5:12 Laurie Pace A Texas Artist Pace Studio  Graphics One Design My Blog          My Website          Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards          CFAI.co      GALLERY LINKS Mirada Fine Art Denver CO ,   The Rare Gallery Jackson Hole WY   The White Dog Gallery Carbondale, CO.
