SUN UP Contemporary Art Italian Seascape Palette Knife Art Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches Oil on Canvas Contact me for more information: Laurie When I paint something like this I am awed by God's creation in giving such depth in color and such peace in a moment. I am reminded that giving thanks and praise to God of my appreciation of his creation is vitally important. If God made us in his own image, tell me, do you like it when someone says, "Hey you did a great job." or " You are fabulous to do this. I cannot tell you how much this means to me that you took the time to do this for me." I don't know about you, but I puff up inside and have warm fuzzies every where. I try to be modest but it makes me feel good to have done something worthy of notice. It makes me work a little more on the next thing I take on, knowing what I do is appreciated. Why would God be any different? If you only go to him in times of need, you basically are a
EVENING QUIET ~ Seascape by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contemporary Art for the Home Saturday morning is here. It is still dark outside but I have all the windows open. Not as cool as yesterday, but I will be cleaning house in about 15 minutes. Morgan is coming over later to paint. He has sold five paintings in the past two weeks! YEAH! Stacey and Larry are back from Colorado. They stopped by on their drive in and brought me some beautiful chimes, Terry a T-shirt and a huge HUGE HUGE chocolate cake. It must be 18 to 20 inches tall...that many layers. We hope to go as a family to Caro's Mexican in Ft Worth tonight and then home for CHOCOLATE CAKE!!! This painting I finished up on Thursday...soft soft evening twilight colors abruptly interrupted by the setting golds in the sunset. Everything is quiet. My pearls of wisdom today are "good flows freely". (IF your hands are open to receive it and you believe.) Allow divine ideas to be exp
NOON TIDE 18 x 27 inches Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas No Frame Needed. A Painting A Day Wednesday. I woke this morning with a vision. I don't know that I can get it on canvas this morning but will try! I was not going to paint today, but it is urging me to pick up the brush. This painting was completed Monday, another crisp fun Tuscany look on the sea. Bright colors and very thick paint applied with my palette knife. No plans today, sometimes that is good and sometimes that is bad! I need to call my moms to get chugging for fall teaching. I have my syllabus complete for the fall but I need to order my supplies. I am praying your day goes well. Sometimes when you plan ahead things never seem to fall in place and often this brings frustration. God seems to pop in those unexpected situations and that is when we need to sit back and let him work. Hugs special to Sue and Charlene today. I feel like a bad friend not touching base, but this past three weeks has been more than busy.
Midnight Seascape 18 X 27 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day It is Wednesday! All the paintings left for Wyoming...whew...one more thing behind me. I will be traveling some over the next week but will continue to post. I spent yesterday going over everything with the couple that will be staying at our home, house sitting and dog sitting. We have to make sure our animals are happy! Annie does not like the pet hotel. The pet Hotel does not like Paddy. So, we will let the dogs stay home! Now that summer has arrived we have to make sure all the trees and plants are watered too. Sometimes leaving home is a problem more than a joy. Maybe if we had a sprinkler system it might be easier. I will put that on my wish list. This painting is one of my favorite pull pieces with colors blending and merging into others. I use a thin palette knife to create this style and I am a lover of purples and blues... very restful to paint. Remember to rest in the Lord...trust Him to show you the w
Morning Reflections 18 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD Well, we only saw sprinkles yesterday...but today expecting MORE rain! I am finally back in the studio, moving slow but hopefully back to full time work again, or at least trying it. I am waiting for the insurance man for the car to come back by and look at the repairs. This painting was completed this past weekend...I think on Sunday. It makes me hungry to look at it, thinking of summer and the blue skies and then all the colors you see in fresh fruits! I know I am artist and my brain functions at a different level! Yesterday I traveled with my daughter and her husband to my mothers to continue unpacking all the stuff she packed up for the floors to be installed. She is doing a good job weeding out the unnecessary in life. It seems we are all guilty of collecting physically as well as mentally. Just as we must relearn to let go and let GOD in our lives concerning worries and situations, we must also learn to LE
