Yes I need to have hope, but this hope is based on all He has accomplished through me in my years here on earth. He has never left me behind, he has walked through the shadows as well as my fears.  I must rise above.  His light continues to shine for eac

Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at His disposition, and listening to His voice in the depth of our hearts. ” ― Mother Teresa We are coming upon the start of Advent of the Christmas Season. on the 29th of November is the first Sunday of Advent.  In preparation of a healthier mindset, I have decided to steer pretty clear of engaging in anything but this season of Hope and Prayer.   Yesterday I woke up early.  Sunday mornings I would rather sleep in a bit past 5 am! I decided to grab my ipad and listen to Pastor Morris' message from Saturday Church at Gateway, Southlake, Texas.  I do believe his sermon was meant to stir us into preparing our heart for what was ahead, both for advent as well as the situations growing violent throu

"You can get glad just like you get mad."  We find ourselves quoting him often. Between the headlines or...wait, the SCARELINES and the current pandemic, who really knows how to react or what to believe.  1. Where did it all start to unravel for many of us?  When did so many stop believing in God?  We like to claim credit for everything we do. "I" is a large part of our outlay to others. God works in all of us, and for 'I' to take credit for it all really is not going the right direction. Now sometimes "I" choses to do something we

We are in the midst of the third week of Advent and Terry and I are enjoying reading our advent study each morning and in the evening we have been studying the book of Mark and how his gospel compares to the other ones.  This evening study prompted us with some tough questions to answer in our lives looking back .  First it asked the simple question of what it meant to 'follow' someone.  In today's world of social media, most people would define it similar, followin

This was a commission piece for a very special doctors office opening here in Dallas. Color and energy are all apart of the healing process...waking the body to the "good news" of life through empathetic viewing , as energy passes from the canvas to the viewer. My thoughts for the day: The last time I was really sick was about a year ago in February when I had the flu and we had no heat, no hot water, and partial electricity. " Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. " Psalm 19:14 Here is a slide show with close ups of the painting. Have you ever heard someone say, "Wishful thinking!"? I know today I was out in the garden cutting roses. I had high hopes of collecting a vase full for the weekend. That was literally wishful thinking. I found two roses, one yellow one from our Orphan Rose that belonged to Terry's mom, and one red one from my JFK rose bush. I also cruised by the peach tree and last year we had hoped to have a few peaches but it was newly planted... wishful thinking...ahah, this year that tree is loaded with peaches. I do have wishful thinking when it comes to adult children making it on their own. Hasn't happened with all of them yet. Als
