During Hurricane Ike two years ago in the heat of summer over 100 degree temps, we were without power for 10 days. Doing without electricity with no cooling in the summer (in your case, no heat in the winter), no lights, no computer, no way to cook, just really nothing in a modern world, knocks one to their knees quickly. I read your post today that power has been restored. I am glad to hear it. Loss of modern day conveniences really can make one appreciate the everyday things we so take for granted. Sometimes we need to be reminded of our blessings. During the 10 days of no power during Hurricane Ike, we were forced outside to experience a new sense of community. In the cold days of winter, you have experienced a new sense of community around you. There is always a blessing to be found, but I'm glad your power is back on again.Vernita Hoythttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01129469305365101640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31463535.post-76637905997998538732010-02-15T11:11:43.508-06:002010-02-15T11:11:43.508-06:00Laurie, Prayers with you! We bought a generator but you are so right - the noise is not conducive to doing anything but covering your ears! God bless and keep you all. Am sure things will be righted shortly!Laura Frantzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07067252948999879024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31463535.post-28364948764026050232010-02-15T09:10:18.094-06:002010-02-15T09:10:18.094-06:00Really enjoyed this painting , Monday Morning Hors...Really enjoyed this painting , Monday Morning Horse. I'm so sorry you are without power ...Hi Laurie,
I'm so sorry you are without power for so long - what an ordeal. My power was off and on, on Thursday and Friday but thankfully is on. You're always welcome to come to Southlake anytime! I take it you have gas - for cooking/hot water? I am thinking of you and that perhaps today is the day the power will finally be restored!!
I love this horse painting - very soft and (should I use this word to describe it?) snowy.
Sending you positive thoughts - and if you need anything at all - do call -
JudyJudyMackeyarthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09333076109508601717noreply@blogger.com
