"But there is not enough time, And there is no, no song I could sing. And there is no combination of words I could say But I will still tell you one thing - We're better together." Jack Johnson "Better Together"
I had the pleasure of doing a painting for the daughter of one of my oldest and dearest friends. The first painting did not really work as I painted two horses traveling together because when I looked back at photos...there were always those seven kids between us... hers and mine.
Sunday afternoon journeys piled in her suburban taking what ever road that looked like mysterious fun to us. Bouquets of wild flowers, singing together, counting stars, reading poetry and talking about the raw things in life that you cannot talk to anyone else about except God. Having that friend that is a true soulmate that gets you without words or explanation. The first painting did not have the joy I felt in her memories. It has been just over ten years since she continued on to heaven and she is missed by her adult children and the grandchildren that never knew her. She left a legacy of love behind.
This Jack Johnson song just about says it all... life was always better together with Charlene.
"Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
