I cannot tell you how many times I prayed and worried about Terry driving across Dallas from Ft Worth every single day. He drove over 100 miles round trip. The man really loves me. Back then we lived close to family and he literally traveled that far to work and back daily. I prayed him there and prayed him home.
Sometimes when someone you are expecting is really late, you begin to worry about the unexpected. Sometimes when you are not worried, the unexpected happens. Our youngest son was in a horrific car accident in 1999. He should have died but he lived and that was a great gift for our family. After that occurred, I sometimes found myself beginning to worry. I had to have a serious talk with myself to wake back up to the reality of my faith and God working in our lives. Focusing on praying can bring me back to a place of calm and balance. I have to throw out all the worried thoughts and center my mind on God as I pray.
I find that as I let go of control, I can breath easier and begin to feel a calm filling my mind and body. Faith fills my soul and I know that God has my loved one in his hands. God restores my inner peace. I know now after living through the experience that God walks through every second of the situation with you. You must learn to lean on Him or even let Him carry you through every moment of the crisis. My mom would say, if you are not trusting Him, he will give you more practice, so maybe it is a good thing to release your worry right now and allow God to restore your inner peace.
