Okay, so when was the last time you blew bubbles and chased them around the yard? Did you study the beauty in each bubble as it reflected the light and colors surrounding it? Lady L and I always love spending time in the back yard despite living in the middle of the suburbs. So today is my birthday. I cannot figure out why they seem to come around faster and faster each year. It is quite the change from life living at the lake to where we are living now. Now is above and then is below.
Terry is still busy bringing in more flowers, trees and plants. I do not think we will ever get to where we were in East Texas, but he is doing pretty darn good. This year he planted 12 rose bushes for me in a ten different colors and I have enjoyed their blooming.
He also planted passion vines, crepe myrtles, mums, tiny succulent roses, lantana... and all the garden we grew this past summer.
If you have read my blog you know a huge rabbit lives under the tool shed in the backyard and he feasted on our early spring plantings.
Inside our home this year Terry has refinished new slate on our fireplace with new stone work going up the walls. In the kitchen he finished off all of the stone work on the back splash... while he still works on finishing the painting upstairs. There is a joy in bringing beauty inside your home that is the result of your gifts from your own hands. We have planted nine trees on this small city lot. It only had one when we arrived. With all of this beauty coming in surrounding us... we will be blessed this next year with the arrival of our second grand-daughter. There truly is not much more I could want for my birthday. I am blessed and so thankful for what we have living closer to our family.
Studio is almost finished being relocated... waiting to jump in and start painting. New year of life and one to enjoy.
Blessings, Laurie
