The Painting: Another approach I have been playing with. Part of being an artist is the need to explore and try out other approaches to representing things on canvas.  It needs to be original as well as part of who I am and the spirit within me.

Here are the links to the Appaloosa Website to see my art work. The Magazine is out in print as well.

Life at the Lake:  RAIN RAIN AND MORE RAIN.  I painted all day yesterday, still catching up from being gone. I would again have preferred to play. Terry is playing. He was modeling all day long.  And I mean all day long.  He is in charge of cooking and cleaning, but we did not eat until dinner time.

Our day adventures found us heading in for groceries around 3 pm so he could cook something. We were about 5 miles from home and I spotted a huge PEACHES 1 mile   SIGN... and of course we went. It was a small country road... but a nice home with wonderful peaches and a big orchard.  Barbara was her name. They used to have 500 peach trees but only have 150 right now.  We brought home peaches, some for Vicky and Paul and some for us. Terry is planning on making peach jam. Any good recipes to suggest?  We brought the peaches home before heading back into town to the store.  Barbara told us she and her husband had moved here 22 years ago. They lived in Tall Tree for 12 years and then built the home they were in there.

The Thought:   Somehow the sparkly nail polish on my nails from the wedding is now peppered with black and Indian yellow acrylics...also have black paint on the back of my wrist that did not wash off in the shower because I missed it.  Even through the flecks of black and gold I still see the sheer silvery sparkle of the original nail polish color.

Reminds me of our lives.  God gives us such a new sparkling beginning...we are fresh to the world. Slowly through the years the flecks of black, gold, blues, greens, reds, yellows etc seem to build up on top of that shiny new surface. If we do not clean up after ourselves and right ourselves back with God, our sparkle is buried beneath layers of colors of paint that we spread over ourselves.

Guess it is time to use the nail polish remover... the powerful stuff. It will remove it all and I will be back to the basics.

Maybe it is time to get back to the basics anyway. By the way, how was your performance yesterday?
