The Painting:    I was asked to repost this painting for the cowgirl in the picture...she has been caring for her hubby and has not had normal computer time.

The Thought:   I was finishing up the book EAT PRAY LOVE last night and came across this thought.  Smile to make your liver feel better.  The point was you don't have to do YOGA and do twisted positions and sit until you hurt, you simply have to show gratitude and share it with a smile.  Sit smiling and mediate on all you are grateful for.  Smile during the day. It will make you feel better.

So I told my friend Kim that we were going to smile (Even through gritted teeth) this week so our 'livers' would feel better and see if that would help the rest of our body.

EAT PRAY LOVE has been an interesting book in many ways as it definitely travels the course of insecurities that women in their thirties and early forties face.  By the time you cross in to the 43 and up... hold on baby the ride is pretty horrific. This author is not there yet.  Those years were years of wanting to literally climb out of my skin or up the wall using my finger nails. I didn't even recognize the person in the body during the last part of my forties.  The blessings came after age 52... the sun came out and the clouds went away. Now they just come like occasional bumps in the day.  There is so much going on in our heads in our thirties as we face changes in our bodies, our lives and our families and friends. When you hit late  forties if you have not allowed yourself to evolve graceful you are in for a battle.

Life is never smooth... it is a constant evolution of being and it is learning how to breathe and smile through the ride. We have no control over the journey, so sit back, enjoy the ride and smile.  Remember to breath and stop gritting those teeth. You will hurt your liver.

Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. For a thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.”- Psalm 90:2,4

Funny - I'm 43. You have not given me a feeling of great confidence LOL! Was there anything you discovered or did that helped you? Anything that made things worse?

I found a book by the wonderful author Paul David Tripp on midlife that I'm looking forward to ordering.

As I've waded out into the mid-life years, I've noticed that there is a major lack of material on the subject.

I enjoy your blog both the art and your sharing about the Christian life very much.
Go buy Dr Christine Northrup's book on menopause as it covers from age 20 and up. My daughter read it at 31 and uses it as a reference still at 35. I think that is how you spell her name... The Wisdom of Menopause. A MUST READ.
