Sunday Evening - Monday Morning Horse painting By Texas Artist Laurie Pace

This painting is available at one of my galleries and is framed.  It is I think framed about a 16 x 16 size.  Please contact me if you are interested!

Thanks.   Laurie
We are heading into Day FIVE/SIX without power.  This is getting old and patience is wearing thin. We picked up a generator but I can't function with it. It is like HUGELY noisy.   I believe we will have to bear the cold and return it.  I cannot believe this is so difficult.   I am writing this on Sunday night to post on Monday.

Most of our neighborhood has left... only a few of us stay guarding our homes and those around us. Two other family members and their households are with out power too.  Dallas is not prepared to handle the emergency that occurred this weekend.

I promise as soon as things return to working power I will be blogging and posting paintings...well, once I can paint again.

We have the gas burners on low in the kitchen maintaining heat for our birds. The dogs seem to be fine.  Maybe I can watercolor in the kitchen this evening.

Continue to raise up in prayer those in Texas so greatly affected by the snow and power failures.

Laurie

Hi Laurie,
I'm so sorry you are without power for so long - what an ordeal. My power was off and on, on Thursday and Friday but thankfully is on. You're always welcome to come to Southlake anytime! I take it you have gas - for cooking/hot water? I am thinking of you and that perhaps today is the day the power will finally be restored!!
I love this horse painting - very soft and (should I use this word to describe it?) snowy.
Sending you positive thoughts - and if you need anything at all - do call -
Judy
Really enjoyed this painting , Monday Morning Horse. Hope you have power and are getting back to normal. Prayers for you and others without electricity.

Laurie, Prayers with you! During our last outage of 4 days it was very difficult. We bought a generator but you are so right - the noise is not conducive to doing anything but covering your ears! God bless and keep you all. Am sure things will be righted shortly!

Laurie, I love this horse painting! I just stopped by to say that I empathize with you having no power. During Hurricane Ike two years ago in the heat of summer over 100 degree temps, we were without power for 10 days. Doing without electricity with no cooling in the summer (in your case, no heat in the winter), no lights, no computer, no way to cook, just really nothing in a modern world, knocks one to their knees quickly. I read your post today that power has been restored. I am glad to hear it. Loss of modern day conveniences really can make one appreciate the everyday things we so take for granted. Sometimes we need to be reminded of our blessings. During the 10 days of no power during Hurricane Ike, we were forced outside to experience a new sense of community. In the cold days of winter, you have experienced a new sense of community around you. There is always a blessing to be found, but I'm glad your power is back on again.
