FOR shopping today, Click on the name below for some fabulous with my painted ponies on them.
Try out a new mouse pad, a wonderful mug for coffee or hot tea, or my favorite, the bags! There are tote bags, beach bags and just junk bags. I put images on front and back of all of them. I already own
several of them and use them all the time. They wash great too.
There are many neat gifts to consider!
The Painting and the Thought together: This is one from the archives and yes it is sold. My older daughter use to collect doodlebugs as a little girl. She tried to sneak them into the house into a shoe box she had filled with grass and direct. I had to keep a constant watch over her and those doodlebugs as several times there were massive doodle bugs crawling all over her room. It was a lesson she could not learn as she wanted to be the master caretaker of those doodle bugs, always worried about them, their food needs and their safety. ( I cannot wait to see what Tink does when she is this age...payback is due.)
I hate comparing us to doodle bugs, but I can't miss the opportunity. We are definitely DO ddle Bugs. We DO and DO and DO and DO and never seem to stop. The wise friend that wrote me several evenings ago shared something that has rested in me as I have rested. I simply stopped doing all those things I felt like I had to DO DO DO, just like my oldest daughter controlling the lives of those doodle bugs. In my direction of the symphony of my life and my family, I have neglected to stop and enjoy the life that is occurring around me today. I have neglected to stop and truly listen to God and allow Him the opportunity to work. As those worries begin to hit my head over the past 36 hours, I have banished them immediately and released them to God. I have been DOING much with out the Spirit. In simplicity I cannot accomplish anything with out the Spirit.
So I have enjoyed my home, my bible, my youngest daughter, my music, my knitting and my husband much more. We took the youngest one shopping last night for a dress to wear to the symphony tonight. She choose wisely at Marshall's a simple blue dress on sale at $15! And we added a black jacket/sweater and some shoes with heels. We also found a fuzzy "Pleather" jacket for school and the cooler temperatures. She was positively glowing as she tried everything on again last night after we got home.... this is a sneak preview, but tonight she will have on makeup and be truly dressed to go... this was to practice walking in two inch heels.
There are memories to be made and life to be lived. Sometimes we have to walk away from the DO DO DO Doodle bug way of life and focus on the simplicity of the joy God has provided for us. We complicate our own lives and bring on our own stress. My daughter did. She used to panic trying to save all the doodle bugs in our yard.
My wise friend reminded me of the writings of Brother Lawrence. After I googled and found the site, I remembered who Brother Lawrence was. There are books there to share free to download and when you have time and you want to discover a simple way to approach life, you will take the time to read his writings.

Time to refocus. Your life is in a blur. If you stop DOING so much you can feel, hear, love, live and enjoy the gifts you have before it is too late. Life does NOT have to be so complicated if you are living it with Him in your heart and your thoughts constantly.
Now I leave you with this year's version of Jingle Bell Rock. Yeah, it is that time of year again and my guitar students are learning it. It gets stuck in my head....so I have to share it.
